I get your point, but still, to me singing is a performance. It's like acting. The actor doesn't need to have lived the life of the person he or she is in a movie. But the feeling is there.

One of my favourites songs by MJ is "Man in the mirror", but he didn't write it. And i don't care. The way he sings it, he makes it his song and brings it to another level. That's what counts.

That is true, but Michael will always have that personal connection with audiences more than just one song because he has written about his personal life since Bad...we established a connection with what's going on with him.

Whitney voice in my opinion is just more tolerable than Mariah's on a singing level, but on an album and artistry level Mariah's got her beat in my opinion.

both voices failed in they're mid 30's.

whitney has better a voice

BUT mariah hands down has better songs and more emotion.

Technically however that's not even a Whitney album lol she did have some nice songs on it ("Queen of the Night" was her best attempt at dance-rock for example lol).

"I Have Nothing" is probobly the greatest song of the 90's, if not "I'll Always Love You" is. Those productions are a notch above a lot of people's stuff, not just Mariah, not just pop or R&B. Mariah, to her credit, tried to equal Whitney with the "Glitter" project, but the strain put her in a mental hospital/ rehab center. People forget that.

Yeah but WHitney didnt have a hand at writing and producing any of those projects like Mariah did.

I agree that Mariah is more involved in the production process, but really she's not a writer. For a while, she was getting sued like every 3 months for claiming she wrote tracks that really she got through Sony and just added her name to. Beyonce does that, Lauren Hill did it. A lot of people do it, so I'm not down on Mariah over it.

for some reason i kind of believe him, cause after mariah left sony her lyrics and writing hasn't reallyl been the same. But i definitly believe she wrote a lot of her stuff, maybe not all what its cut out to be.
