Once again, I love the Pointer Sisters' version better. Different strokes..... [Edited 6/18/11 9:11am]

This is probably my favorite song on the album after "Automatic". I always get flashbacks to the sisters walking hand in hand at the end of their 1987 TV Special Up All Nite.
I found the beginning of it. I love their acting in this

I never said it was a single; I said it was released. I believe it debuted on the album before it became a b-side. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I'm really happy BBR is giving "Breakout" the royal treatment it deserves. This is my favorite Pointer Sisters album. They kinda lost me after this with "Contact" and the rest. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

I went on a vinyl dig over the weekend and bought 'Contact' for only $1 I also bought the 'Break Out' LP for the same price, even though I'm getting the 2-CD remaster.I bought it because it's one of the early pressings with the song "Nightline"....I figure this is a nice collector's item

On my vinyl dig,I found another album,1986's 'Hot Together'.I didn't buy it though.Wasn't too crazy about the single "Goldmine" and I don't recall hearing anything else from this album.

I love their remasterd versions of Contact and So Excited! Can't wait to get Break Out and Hot Together too! I also need a remastered version of their 1988 gem - Serious Slammin'!

I purchased the remaster of "Contact" and gave it another spin a few weeks ago. Still can't get into it. I guess I just prefer the R&B side of the sisters that I got during most of "Breakout". "Contact" was too much slick, synch-Pop for my liking. Other than "Dare Me" and "Freedom" (which I still prefer Chaka's original version), I didn't care for anything else on that particular disc. Ever heard Dave Armstrong's techno song "Make Your Move" based on the chorus of "Dare Me"?

I listened to 'Contact' the other day and I agree with you.The album is much too slick and formulaic....a bunch of faceless synth-pop tracks.I do like the songs "Dare Me","Freedom" and "Twist My Arm" (the three singles).

Glad to see this album getting so much props. When it was a new release it was guaranteed to pack the dance floor and blow the roof off any house partay. Every cut was killer and just lifted the energy from the track before. Perfect sequencing.
