MESHELL NDEGEOCELLO @ THE HIGHLINE BALLROOM 6/15/11 I attended the show tonight and here's the setlist.
ALL THE CRITICS LOVE U IN NEW YORK DIRTY MIND IRRESISTIBLE BITCH CONTROVERSY SIGN O THE TIMES SOMETHING IN THE WATER(DOES NOT COMPUTE) ANNIE CHRISTIAN POP LIFE LADY CAB DRIVER LET'S GO CRAZY I WOULD DIE 4 U PURPLE RAIN I WANNA BE YOUR LOVER
Pretty much a raw, funky set. The surprises came in the slowed down arrangements of I Would Die 4 U, Purple Rain & I wanna Be Your Lover. Very much in Meshell's own slow track style. The audience seemed to enjoy her interpretations and she made sure to let us know these were songs that made her want to play music.
Note : As someone who attended the W2A shows in NYC I find it absolutely amazing that Meshell included 2 songs in her set that most fans say Prince should retire(Let's Go Crazy & Purple Rain). It says a lot that these songs mean something to another artist and are not considered overdone or tired. [Edited 6/16/11 10:47am] When  go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all  up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming! | |

for a full tour with a similar setlist
