can somebody tell give me a couple "must-hear" songs of his? They've been saying he's the best for years and years, but I haven't been blown away by anything just yet.

I don't really know much about Jeff or his music, but I was mesmorised by this solo from the first time I heard it and ever since. Pure delight!

Music, sweet music, I wish I could caress and...kiss, kiss...

He has played guitar on Tina Turner's "Private Dancer", Rod Stewart's "Infatuation", Mick Jagger's "Just Another Night" and The Honey Drippers' "Rockin' At Midnight", these were all Top 40 hits, he has guested as guitar soloist on albums by Roger Waters (of Pink Floyd), Phillip Bailey, Morrissey, Joss Stone, Stanley Clarke, Cyndi Lauper, Jon Bon Jovi, Narada Michael Walden, Joss Stone, Buddy Guy, Diana Ross, Kate Bush, Wynonna Judd, to name a few.

Must hear songs would be: "'Cause We've Ended As Lovers" (written by Stevie Wonder); "Where Are You", "Nessun Dorma", "People Get Ready" (featuring Rod Stewart); "The Pump", "Freeway Jam", "Two Rivers" and hus Grammy winning cover of The Beatles' "A Day In The LIfe".

His material is mostly instrumental and stretches across the genres of rock, jazz fusion, blues, rockabilly, techno, soul, classical, reggae and pop - sometimes combining more than one form in a given tune.

BTW Jeff Beck is on the forthcoming Sly Stone album on a re-make of "I Want To Take You Higher". On Stone's label's website, Cleopatra Records, there is a 39 second snippet of this track.
