The White Stripes Just diggin' their new album Elephant. I still don't love the vocals as much as i want to but otherwise its a glorious racket. Seen them live on two occasions and they're so fierce and intense and loose at the same time. Sounds like they got a bass player too on this album for even greater noise. They still remind of early Led Zep when they were blasting their way though blues standards. Anyone else dig them?

A cross between Wally Pleasant and Green Day.
I like them only in small doses -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

i think they're great... and i have to agree with wildheart that they remind me of led zep's first few albums at times... it's amusing that they're cover of bob dylan's "one more cup of coffee" sounds more like a zep song than robert plant's cover of it...
i love the fact that everything is stripped down, fuckin' bare-bones... and they have a great musical knowledge... they chose their covers well... robert johnson's "stop breaking down," dylan's "one more cup of coffee," blind wille mctell's "southern can is mine," and son house's "death letter blues"... it was their cover of the willie mctell song that brought them to my attention... and unlike a lot of bands, they aren't using cover songs to cover up the fact that they can't write... their original songs kick ass as well... they rock... i like them... Love 'em! How are you listening to their new CD? I just read a review about it today in NME and they say the release date is in April so what's up with that??

Gotta love TWS and many of the new 'THE' bands. I got to see The Vines at The Roxy in Hollywood last summer, loved it. Of course a few margaritas and celebrities in the midst made it all the more exciting. Although I'm currently obsessed with The Strokes. Peace & Love

The Vines are the only band of those hyped up THE bands that i can't see the what the big deal is. Sure they've got energy live but they sound like a 5th rate Redd Kross. Go listen Redd Kross and see what i mean...
