R&B Group Next Reunites

R&B group Next has reunited with all three original members Robert "R.L." Huggar, Terry "T-Low" Brown and Raphael "Tweet" Brown.

After several failed attempts of releasing albums on 50 Cents' G-Unit label and Matthew Knowles' Music World Entertainment, the group disbanded. The break-up is also credited to Raphael "Tweet" Brown leaving the group due to conflicts with R.L. and T-Low suffering from a career-threatening throat condition.

Now that band settled their differences and T-Low's throat condition has been successfully corrected through surgery, Next is working on their fourth studio album Music 101.

As the band records new material, Tweet describes the group by saying, "We are giving the world that raw R&B we are known for. Stellar vocals, clever lyrics, and harmony that will move any audience. Our performance game has elevated with our maturity and experiences."

These guys are known for "raw R & B?" "Too Close" was a great song but it's as smooth and polished as music gets.

I'm glad they're back 2gether, but I don't think anyone missed them.

I hope they work with K-Gee again. He created magic for them.

I honestly didn't realize they had "broken up." Just thought they faded away.

I still don't understand why RL couldn't succeed as a solo act.

Apparently one of them "found God" and decided to leave the group, this led to a dispute and the break up was less than amicable. Next tried to continue as a duo but eventually the other guy (on the far right) and RL kissed and made up and now they're back together, have been since 2010.

Found god? They were a gospel group before doing the r&b/pop stuff. Funny they are coming back now, I was just reading about them the other day after remembering how much I loved Too Close in high school and.

You can be reared in gospel and still "claim" you "lost your way". I should've put "found God" in quotations but dude wanted to do gospel music...

There hasn't been an R&B roup on the scene in a hot minute (new or old.)

Too Close was the jam though, and Butter Luv.

That song was a running joke between me and my college boyfriend. He would bust out singing it seriously at the most random times (studying, going for a run). That song was ridiculous in so many ways.

His favorite part was what he called the choo choo arm movements from the video, which he also liked to bust out at inappropriate times.

I think the lead dude is also responsible for Koffe Brown's afterparty, which was a true college jam.

Yeah, i bought some of their other albums back then as well, with some catchy songs

I remember one group-member or producer was called something like "Catdaddy"

And another song of them which i heard on the radio was "I Don't Get Down Like That"

I kinda dug Mista's album-opener when i listened back then, but actually both albums of those groups have been lately catching dust in my basement boxed lol
