My Mom used to be absolutely CRAZY about Tom Jones back in the 1970's. She had about 3 or 4 of his albums, and used to play them often. So I'm very familiar with ALL of his songs from that era, as well as with his television show. Needless to say, I learned to appreciate Tom Jones. He had a strong voice, and was a dynamic performer.
Engelbert Humperdinck was another of my Mom's favorites right around that same time. All these years later, I "get" what the attraction was. Both those guys had a lot of appeal.

He initially hated it when it got grey, that's why he dyed it as long as he did but after a while he liked it because "it turned to silver". He still looks the same though, just with grey hair and a goatee. | |
