The Decline of the Apollo Theater

I've heard so many stories over the years about the rise and fall of the famed Apollo Theater in New York and it is devastating on how it declined in the 1970s. Does anyone have any other information, pictures, or media that showcases its short-lived, yet unfortunate decline as one of the most important African-American entertainment institutions?

I am interested in this one book that has come out on the Apollo as well:

I checked that book out from the library a few months ago. It tells the background of the theater, how it was originally another theater for whites only and how it was bought by Frank Schiffman and renamed. It has lots of photos too.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
