I think when people write you stuff like this, you're really are doing something good

GAGA, I HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING WITH BAD SELF ESTEEM- BUT YOUR ARTISTRY AND MESSAGE GET ME THROUGH THE DAY! MY BEST FRIEND AND I WERE TALKING ABOUT HOW WE LISTEN TO YOUR MUSIC WHEN WE NEED TO BE LIFTED UP! I GO TO YOU FOR INSPIRATION ALMOST EVERY DAY. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH- THANK YOU FOR THE BEAUTIFUL LOVE YOU'VE PUT OUT INTO THE WORLD!

I always wonder.. which Gaga songs are those people listening to? lol

Maybe it's time for the org to get the list of Gaga's "DEEP CUTS" smile

Why does a song have to be deep to appear to people?

Apperently those songs lift them up.

As for Gaga, she has this "be yourself" very high, i'm too old for that stuff ( lol ), but i like it, when there are people struggling with stuff and find comfort in something.

OK here is one of her dance songs that I think is actually a "deep cut".

There's one record she has on her first album called "Money Honey" where she is acknowledging (and no doubt exaggerating) the romantic gifts that her love interest is giving her (yacht, etc), but saying the thing she really likes/needs is behavior that shows she is loved (kisses, etc).

Lyrics that sum it up:

You know I appreciate the finer things

But it's not what makes me happiest, baby (I can do without it, babe)

Your tender loving's more than I can handle

Never burn out this candle, baby, baby

And I know even reading that you're like "ok how many times does she have to say baby" or whatever nitpicky thing. But she wrote this song to her boyfriend who was a fucking bartender and probably couldn't buy her shit!

This is like the opposite to TLC's "No Scrubs" - a song I really don't like. Not because I'm a "scrub" but I think it really misses the point of what makes a relationship work - affection.

When you listen to "Money Honey" you might just think it's some record that the rich kids from The Hills used to drink and party to.

Ok, I'm calling your bluff. Which ten albums that were released in 2011 do you believe are better than Born This Way?

Amalia - Art Slave

Britney Spears - Femme Fatale

Amanda Palmer - Amanda Palmer Goes Down Under

Radiohead - The King of Limbs

Adele - 21

Lykke Li - Wounded Rhymes

Lupe Fiasco - Lasers

Raekwon - Shaolin VS Wu-Tang

Beastie Boys - Hot Sauce Committee Part 2

Stevie Nicks - In Your Dreams

Tyler The Creator - Goblin

Bad Meets Evil - Hell: The Sequel

There's 12.

Everyone has different taste lol.

It’s a creative album just it’s not a must have or memorable I think Bastard might be better. I can’t listen to him all day though.

Yeah, I hear ya. Bastard does have the edge over Goblin. But I was listing albums I liked better than "Born This Way" that came out this year. And there's at least 6 or 7 tracks I dig overall on Goblin compared to 4 on "Born This Way"..... which disappoints me, to be honest, because I dug almost every song on "The Fame Monster" and I was really hoping she could keep the consistency up. I think even "The Fame" had 5 songs I liked.

Going back to OFWGKTA, I hope that when Earl gets back he does decide to keep rapping and that him and Tyler do a lot more stuff together. If they can really focus and do a proper new full group album with Tyler, Earl, Hodgy, Left Brain, Frank Ocean etc... ... that's gonna be the dopest shit.

I like Born This Way mainly for the songs I like but yeah I think if she cut some songs out it could have been better. The Fame monster was just flawless imo but some standouts on the new one as well. I think Earl and Frank Ocean might have the most talent out that group (aside from Tyler) I don’t listen to Earl but he can rap. Overall they are just alright for me I like some of their songs though. I like their image more lol

While I am not a fan of Gaga I dont find her to be THAT overrated even though she technically still IS. She doesnt receive a bunch of made up awards or thrown grammies at her because of who she is. While she has been compared to Madonna, nobody isnt saying her music is revolutionizing anything well at least I havent heard that. She is definitly FAR FROM ORIGINAL. However, I think an artist like Beyonce is far more overrated than Gaga. Gaga at least plays an instrument and all her music doesnt sound the same but nothing innovative about it though as people make it out to be. She swagger jacks the whole 80's era.

Would love to see an album by her that's not shit bubblegum pop dance.

She obviously has talent. Just a shame her music is utter shite.

She sounds much more convincing and real behind a piano with just her vocals.
I find her music to be extremely annoying.
It's like she's trying too hard to be different, that could be the fault of her producers as well.
It doesn't excite me a bit. I must honestly say I find nicki minaj for instance more pleasurable to listen to. Another one that tries too hard.

But oh well, everybody has an opinion right?

She still hasn't put out something or done a performance that has wowed me. But I'll be on the lookout. (anyone post some links?) I did download the new album for $.99 (can't pass up that deal!)

But on a cursory listen, nothing seemed that cool or addictive! I'll put it on a long haul in the car today to see if it hits me with lots of listens.

I also watched a lot of her recent HBO concert, and that seemed really lukewarm (even a bit fake and ultra cheesy) to my senses.

But, I think that younger folk who don't know that things that make her seem creative were played out by people like Marilyn Manson (obvious HUGE influence on her makeup effects, costumes, horror fantasy vibe) or Madonna already on a huge pop level (on albums, performances, award shows, etc). Her message of individualism and self confidence and pride are sound in ideology, but I think she is just doing that because it is getting her obsessive fan devotion by the $$$ spending teens and fringe peeps.

I think she is putting together established elements in a tepid formula compared to the originators before her. But if those elements are new to you, it seems really cool.

But I'll definitely put this new album on rotation to see if forms some brilliant pop pastiche on repeat.
