Well yea I would say Prince too because I wasn't always a fan...just became one a couple of years ago and I was like why did I not know this man exists..I mean knew he did but I really never paid any attention to him. And now it's like overload trying to get my hands on every single thing related to him.
A couple of months ago I discovered Betty Davis. She wasn't huge but man she was a complete bad-ass.
I love discovering artists I've never heard of. There are so many good ones that never hit the mainstream.

I suppose Betty Davis could apply to me as well since I only discovered her when her albums got remastered and rereleased. |

Nah but seriously I just realize how mind blowing some of his more adventurous stuff is. And the extended mixes of his hits...
Well, I started listening to his music in 2005 The orger formerly known as theodore |

^ Yup, same here--brand new to Betty Davis. Now, Prince I stopped listening to in '96 but I've "rediscovered" him in recent years to my listening pleasure. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

You should.
Interesting you would bring up the whole prog rock scene. Are you into Traffic? I just got their entire discography not long ago after having sloughed them off for years.
No, actually, I don't think I've ever heard a single Traffic record. Another one to check out then. |
