Lady Gaga went broke after tour spending

According to the Daily Mail, Lady Gaga went bankrupt after spending millions on costumes for her Monster’s Ball tour. Gaga went almost $3 million in debt during the 18 month 200 show tour. The surprising part was she had no idea. Because celebrities are idiots who don’t know how to manage money.

‘Other than that I put everything in the show, and I actually went bankrupt after the first extension of the Monster Ball. And it was funny because I didn’t know!
‘And I remember I called everybody and said, “Why is everyone saying I have no money? This is ridiculous, I have five No. 1 singles” — and they said, “Well, you’re $3m in debt.” ‘

The tour eventually brought in $226 million though which made me real sad.

Lady Gaga said the main reason she didn’t know was because money isn’t that important to her.

Talking to the Financial Times, she says, “The only big things I’ve purchased are my dad’s heart valve and a Rolls-Royce for my parents, for their anniversary.” ‘And that was only because my dad had a Lady Gagalicense plate on our old car and it was making me crazy because he was getting followed everywhere, so I bought him a new car.’

Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

I would happily manage her money for a 1% fee, and guarantee that she never runs out of money again.

It's just the same old record industry bullshit. The record company has a 360 deal, spends truckloads of money be spent to promote the album, dumps all the cost on the artist, and then keeps most of the income. The sad part is that everybody who's grown up in the last three decades has seen this happen to one musician after another—this the plot more than one Behind the Music—and they still keep signing these shitty contracts in hopes of cashing in while they're young.

Wouldn't this have made the news though? Bankruptcy filings are available for free to the public.

The record company is, ans was always just a bank. They front the money then expect a return with percentage. Her 5 number ones in 2010, I will bet generated less money than a single number one in 1985.

I heard they were on the brink of filing when Live Nation swooped in and saved them.

Guess no one is going to compare her to M when it comes to business. That talentless whore knows how to make a coin.
