If this is true, then no doubt a number of his albums will feature in the album charts imminently??? Or is it just bullshit?

I'd like to see a source on this but it wouldn't surprise me. I'll never understand though why it takes some publicity and hype for someone to finally decide they need (in this case) a Michael Jackson album. They have been available for decades if you like the music. biggrin

Shame you don't have a Selectadisc near you. They're selling that mutha for £9.99.

I predict that this "Living With MJ" documentary will get sky-high ratings in the U.S. too.His Celebration concert from a few years ago was watched by over 27 million households.Kinda makes you wonder why MJ doesn't just sign a deal with a TV station and have a weekly series or something...lol...

Michael Jackson is the leader of world pop music, others just fail to match his consistant high standards.

The percentages look impressive, until you look at the *actual* sales figures.

Something like 475 copies of Thriller this week, compared to the 100 sold the week before.

Not exactly setting the charts alight is he.

The record sales up 1000% thing is true.

also a poll conducted found 62% think more favorably of him now than they did before the documentary.

Media-led lightweight culture stringed along by what's the current hype on TV. Don't forget it's negative publicity triggering the sales.

Few people using "The Who" diss on this thread but a duet with Pete Townsend covering Britney Spears' "Boys" and we'd be talking platinum.

but what does it say that a controversial interview is what spikes sales..instead of having a good run at time of release based on music etc only...

Tonight is the TV special here in the USA.
When they check the ratings it will have done well.
This will be proof to MJ's followers that he is still popular.
They won't see that people watched the MJ special in the same way they slow down when they drive past a car crash.
