New album is great, most critically acclaimed by them in a long time as well.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

IMO it is the best album they've done since the Wedding Album.

My fav album of the golden original era is Seven and the Ragged Tiger...The Reflex, New Moon on Monday, Union of the Snake, Cracks in the Pavement, Tiger Tiger, 7th Stranger, the single Is There Something I Should Know, etc., the apex of the original DD... cool

RIO, which I used to love, is now too poppy for my taste, and the band was heavily marketed as a teen band during 1982 confused . Not my fav era... confused New Religion is probably the best song...

the first album has a classic sound/production, but many songs left me cold...Their concerts were kickass at that early point, John Taylor was (is) a killer bassist...

I'm not a fan of the 86-00 years...Notorious and the Arcadia project are easily my fav albums of that era. I quite like the ballads of Big Thing but the upbeat/dance numbers are just boring, the Shep Pettibone remix of I Don't Want Your Love is like 1000000 times better than the album version. Liberty is awful, easily their worst album of original material. The Wedding Album doesn't truly sound like a DD album. More like a Simon LeBon solo album with a hard-rock guitar player and some Wet Wet Wet ballads...lol Ordinary World and Come Undone are still awesome though...and yes Thank You was that bad, completely uneven... I still haven't heard Medazzland (and probably never will cuz I don't care lol) and that 2000 album, wow I don't even remember the name eek but I remember that I quite liked one forgotten little ballad: Starting to Remember...

I enjoyed Astronaut but it's a shame that the reunion imploded just a couple of years later. Red Carpet Massacre sounds horribly dated only 4 years later...The new album All You Need is Now sounds fantastic but sadly is selling very poorly...still, we're talking about DD, boys and girls: they have died and resurrected like 5 times already...they will stop making music and touring the world only if they want to...

Love DD!

My favorites:

1. Rio (complete perfection, every song is 5-star quality)

2. Duran Duran (a classic)

3. All You Need Is Now (a phenomenal album at this stage in the band's career)

4. Seven and the Ragged Tiger (worst of the classics, but still a great listen)

5. Red Carpet Massacre (an underrated gem)

Other than Thank You, Pop Trash is the major misstep IMO.

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking "All you Need is Now" is their best album since "Rio"!

I'm a fan too... "Girls On Films", "Save A Prayer", "The Chauffeur", "tempted", "Before The rain", "The Reflex" being my fave songs smile
