Marvin & Tammi - You Got What It Takes

No it's NOT the Dinah/Brook duet at all. Very funky also.

United is easily, the greatest pop-soul duet album ever made. Marvin and Tammi were on a hot streak when that album was released. This song is one of my favorites!

YES!!!!

Why this album is not even mentioned as one of the greatest R&B albums, at least of the '60s, I never got that. It definitely was a vocal masterpiece. Marvin & Tammi were on their fuckin' A-game. That whole album is flawless.

"Sad Wedding" was a damn EPIC!!!!!

I'm saying! nod

This entire album plays like a greatest hits record. The album cuts were incredibly strong. This is the epitome of all duet partnerships...one that everybody tries to duplicate, but fails of course.

"Sad Wedding" just sends chills down my damn spine because the way Marvin and Tammi sang in unison with each other was spellbinding.

Yeah everybody talks about Roberta & Donny and Ashford & Simpson but I feel Marvin & Tammi never got their just due. Obviously the other two duos never created a stellar album such as this. A&S helped in cultivating some of M&T's stuff but still... lol

Can't forget them either. A&S definitely has many classics and "Solid" is one of them.
