Been listening to a lot of Dylan lately and this song is one of my favourites. I always thought that he made a big mistake by including the re-recorded version on Blood on the Tracks. The original (from The Bootles Series, vols. 1-3) is 100 times better. Does anyone prefer the Blood on the Tracks version? To me it always sounded very unfocused and messy.

I prefer the live version from the 'Hard Rain' live lp over both! Such anger.

The Bootleg Series version of Idiot Wind is what got me seriously hooked on Dylan. Is it a cop out to say I like them all? Seriously awesome song.

only heard the blood on the tracks version which i've always liked . havn't played it for ages will dig it out straight away ,the other version must be good if its better than this one.
