Beverley Knight - One More Try (George Michael cover)

From her forthcoming album, Soul UK - "Beverley's own versions of 13 classic UK Soul tracks including songs by Soul II Soul, Jamiroquai, Omar, Young Disciples, Roachford, George Michael, Junior and more", according to her website. [LINK]

It's a cool version, even if do I wish she'd stop releasing covers albums and put out some new material! Still, she's looking well, it seems... batting eyes

doh! It's very nice... honest!

Tbh, even though I like her version, and like her as a singer, I do think GM's live, gospel-style reinterpretation of this song is my favourite. nod

(1) she looks freaking HOT on the cover eek

(2) she's way too young to already do the cover album thingy fart

(3) despite (2) I pretty much like the song selection

(4) despite (3) however, I did NOT really need Always and Forever beatdeadhorse

(5) that George Michael cover is kinda cool with me, so most likely I will get the whole CD

(6) she looks freaking HOT on the cover horny

Mong	She's one of the worst singers ever. Awful screechy tone, poor vocal control and just plain oversings too much. She tries way too hard.

Yeah, it's a more interesting idea for a covers album than the usual 'soul classics' thing that has been done to death by everyone (including her! lol ). Good to hear a fresh spin on songs like Mama Used to Say and Fairplay, which I've liked since the first time around, and it sounds like they work well with a live band, too. boogie
