Seeing as i'm not a big Rihanna fan and lord know's she get's the hate around here

Good Girl Gone Bad was a solid album to me... i have not listened to it in forever! and well i remembered that it is quite a good album

This album came out my senior year and my playlists where full of Bob Dylan, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Diamanda Galas, Van Halen, Marvin Gaye, Anthrax, Public Enemy & Bruce Springsteen...

And at the time i did not know the difference between Ri Ri & Ciara

But her singles blew up i mean you could not escape Umbrella!, then there's other killer singles like Take A Bow, Don't Stop The music, Rehab, the rocking Shut Up & Drive & Disturbia.

then there's funky little cuts like Breaking Dishes & Lemme Get That that drive the album!

Not to mention around this time she did the duet with T.I Live Your Life and i'm not a T.I fan but i like that song and it bring's back good memories.

But either way, Rihanna has become a pop robot she just does what she is told, which i am sure is what she did hear but she seemed so free spirited and fun!

I only got to listen to it recently, but I do agree that it is quite wonderful. Sometimes it's a nice when you least favorite artist puts out a great album. I just feel it's a little narrowminded when people act like the 'greats' are so untouchable that they are impervious to putting out shitty work as well. It happens. No one's perfect. Ever.

I know that, in the future, I'll but the "RiRi: Greatest Hits" album. Good singles, good stuff...

but I'll be damned if I buy one of her studio albums: 3 singles, 2 ok album tracks and 8 awful/filler tracks...

Good Girl Gone Bad and Rated R are okay pop albums. Far more tolerable to me than most of the contemporary pop stuff out there. Can't say the same about Loud though. Whatever sense of style she had developed previously just went out of the window with that one.

But that's almost like every album ever. An album where a whopping 90-100% of it is really amazing and solid is like a real diamond in the ruff. Sometimes this is why GH albums are a godsend.
