If you're in the music business, and you look like a model or an athlete, chances are you suck.

I find that people who either look like freaks or very normal tend to make the best music.

On the other side of the coin, it can turn out that some in power positions won't take a good looking person as serious as they should simply because they're good looking. Although that's the case in many businesses.

There are exceptions. David Sylvian (the avatar) is a brilliant artist who also happens to be extremely good looking.

I agree with you for the most part, though, particularly regarding today's 'artists.' My favorite artists of the nineties are:

Bjork (funny looking)
Moby (short and bald)
Seal (scarred face)

Of course, there are also plenty of ugly people who make sucky music (Limp Bizkit, Arvil Lavigne)...
