Criminally underrated record. So many factors got in the way and hindered what could've been a classic.

I love how he dabbled in doo-wop in "This Is Love" and I love the alternate version of "Loose Booty" music

Indeed! I consider it to be the perfect cap to their unbeatable 1967-1974 period, where they were just on top of everything from a commerical, creative and innovative standpoint. I specifically love the scaled-down soulful sound of this record. Sure, it doesn't contain the highs of "Family Affair", "Everyday People", and "If You Want Me To Stay", but it represented a different Sly who was in a battle personally and professionally. Lyrically, this is a very emotional and inward record as well. music

Sly does jazz! Love this LP. This and "High On You" are WAY under the radar.

The album "High On You" is also VERY underated it has more of an uptempo feel. Small talk is OK as well. <img src=" />

lol lol lol lol lol

The "chit-chat" album huh? Great one.

This is one of my favorites from this classic LP as well. With the mix of the violins and soulful stripped down arrangements that become one of Sly's trademarks, I think it would be safe to assume that this is the album that influenced many groups such as Soul II Soul in the 90's. Prince must have been deeply influenced by this album as well.

This is another overlooked, yet great gem from this classic LP:
