I went to a Prince jam tonight and in another room they had the latest r&b, hip hop and dance with some old school. My friend and I came for prince, and the other 3 wanted the other room, so I couldn't stay for just Prince, had to also go to the other room and felt annoyed with how slow it sounded and how I didn't want to dance along...my music snob side was back. Then the others came to the Prince room for a bit and one of them was watching prince's clips and kinda laughing or snickering and didn't quite get how we were enjoying it, and I seemed to be the only one who knew Sheila E. and in the other room, I seemed to be the only one that knew Debbie Deb and Blondie LOL We are all in our late 20's and early 30's but it once again felt so out of place knowing this stuff and enjoying it way more. How could they enjoy music sooo slow and not fast?

I discovered a few Prince songs I didn't know before and the lovesexy tour is just WOWWW, I had seen some clips before, but DAMN!

im not like vainandy, but i definitly dont' like the music out right now, I can tolerate Britney till the world ends, rihanna only girl in the world, and a few other recent songs, but i can pretty much count on my hand how many recent songs i like. Im starting to look at older artist like chaka khan and minnie riperton.

V-Andy..I was listneing to a few of your podcast mixes and then downloaded a few of them. That Ice Cold mix is wonderful. I love how you mixed Free World into Everybody Dance. Brilliant in showing how Jesse dman near made the same song but one was inside out and the other deep funk. Good ear you got there. And that 3 a.m. mix? gtfooh lol. I was hooked with Switch's 'Theyll Never Be' on it becasue that jam always gets me but the real kicker was using The Main Ingredients 'Just Dont Wanna Be Lonely"--oh man..memories of being a tyke and all th eolder kids/parents singing this when it came on the radio. Novody ever recognizes or rmeebers that oldie. Love it. Thanks for your work!!
