No homo here but I couldnt help but notice her chest size at the time. They tried to downplay it by her wearing sweaters and shirts with big shoulder pads but that girl was a Dcup. Dear Micheal song/tribute not very good but nice try.

Michael's version actually has more soul.

She's embarassed by that song these days. I made a CD-R copy of this song for a friend of hers that was touring in my area and lent her my 45 if she promised to get it autographed for me and mail it back. She played a joke on her. She was in a touring gospel stage play at the time and on one of the shows, her friend wanted to make sure the song was playing when she came out during cast introductions as a surprise. I met Kim Fields a few years later when she was in my area. I got ready to ask her...."Do you know a person named..." and she cut me off real quick by saying..."No"...before I could even get the name out. I said to myself...."Oh hell naw, she didn't"...and I said the name of her friend real quick. She looked up and asked how did I know her. When I told her who I was, she laughed and said...."So YOU'RE the one responsible for that".

Yep, he's singing it as if he's reading a fan letter. His version came out in 1975

I never knew there was a version out before Kim's. That's another one I can add to the list of remakes I heard before the original.

I know right! Only Mike can sing a song to himself. But I don't think most people know that's a remake. Hell, I just found out a few years ago myself. I found the Forever Michael album in a record store and bought it.

Back in 1984,our local R&B station used to mix these songs together.They would play the first verse of Kim's version,then play a verse from Michael's version...making it sound like one song.

I bet that Kim (and the show's producers) really wanted Michael to play that role,but had to "settle" for Jermaine instead
