LOVE IT! Takes me back to my childhood! That melody is classic! Remember that episode of "Who's the Boss?" where Tony and Angela danced to it?

This is one of those songs that not only makes me miss my childhood, but I actually want to crawl inside it and live: it's a good resting place.

I have the 45 for this song. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

For me this is all about the summer of 1983, GLUED to MTV. I had no idea at that tender young age that I was witness to a virtual golden age of pop music videos
These days my young daughters refer to them as "music videos", almost like they're old-fashioned. Weird.

BTW, this is like the tenth time this (great) song has been posted. [Edited 5/20/11 22:11pm]

Steppin Out really does have one of the best melodies of all time. so much so, that even years later I'd sometimes remember it but I could'nt remember lyrics, or even the name of the song or the artist...I went nuts trying to track this song down lol.
