Someone, I think J. Randy Taraborelli said it, at one point "Thriller" ceased to become just another music album, it was like a souvenir or something you JUST have to have in your house. People didn't think (and STILL don't think) you wasn't shit if you hadn't least bought a copy of it or even bootleged it.

Never. The perfect storm that was Michael Jackson's Thriller will never be duplicated, let alone surpassed.

It's almost took 30 years for Thriller to sell about 60-70 million copies and this was when buying albums was at its peak. Also, it is selling copies to this day. That is going to be a huge feat to overcome, especially with how niche markets seem to be exceling in this day and age.

Of course not.

Even if someone came along and created a full record just that great, no one cares about albums anymore, so it wouldn't sell.
