...You know you're old when you look at a list like that and barely recognize most of the names on it. Seriously, I barely know who any of these people, are.

No not old, just confused. Believe me I'm only 27 and I don't know half the people nominated in the female rap category. lol

I'll be 30 in August and I read that list like....*blank stare*.

So Aunt Re really did tell them to go to hell huh?

Either way it looks like we'll be getting a Fantasia scream-fest.

Well there are probably more better people who deserve it more. HOWEVER, Harvey DOES do charity work so its not like he doest do anything. I agree BET have their favorites though.

Obviously. I'll probably do like Aretha and skip the entire show. Recent events related to the show I can't get with including the LAA if you know what I mean. sad

But just looking at the nomination list it feels they just put names in a hat and added them all there. lol The state of “Black Music” is not good.

You know what I kinda want to happen - but it never will - is if some old funk group out of nowhere come on the show and totally fucked up their mindsets! lol But that'll never happen with these idiots.

I forgot I still listen to Kanye as well but it’s always the same old people anyway . Jay- Z , Wayne , Kanye , Usher , Beyonce there’s honestly no other big name black talent. But at least Maxwell and Musiq soulchild still put out decent music.

Chris Brown and Jill Scott to Perform at 2011 BET Awards

Chris Brown and Jill Scott have come onboard to add excitement to the 2011 BET Awards The two artists join Alicia Keys as performers at this year's extravaganza.

It's already looking like it will be a big night for Chris Brown, who has been nominated in six categories. Jill Scott is expected to light up the stage, as the R&B songstress drops her fifth studio album Light of the Sun this month.

Both Chris Brown and Jill Scott have been known to make history on a BET stage! Last year, CB blew the audience away with his remarkable tribute to Michael Jackson, and Jill Scott rocked the televised debut of Black Girls Rock! with her lively performance. The two additions to the performer lineup are sure to make the 2011 BET Awards a memorable night.

Hosted by Kevin Hart, the 2011 BET Awards will also honor Patti LaBelle with a Lifetime Achievement Award. She joins Steve Harvey as an honoree at the event, as he will receive this year's Humanitarian Award.

I already made my mind up even before the Patti incident. I did say I might check it out solely for the Lifetime Achievement Award portion but I know this one is gonna be a hot ass mess. I'm already guessing who the "singers" are gonna be to pay tribute. Fantasia, J-Hud, Yolanda, COME ON DOWN! rolleyes lol
