Further proof she won't get it. lol

True, but you never know. They could do a little video webcam broadcast from Berlin to the BET telecast? They might give it to her days before the ceremony itself and then shoot a little fake video for them to show during the tribute. These industry award shows done that shit for years.

But I think it's either Stevie, Patti, Babyface, or Aretha!

Beyonce and John Mayer get on my nerves every year because of the award shows seem to feel obligated to nominate them whether they deserve it or not. However, at least with the Grammy's they'll wait for John to put something out. BET looks really desperate with this nod for Beyonce...

Beyonce nominated for Best R&B Female Artist really BET? Did she release any new material? Im not talking about her latest single. They most really need her star power to generate ratings for the show ...hence the nomination.

The BET Awards is now in the same league with the Grammys lacking real creditability. Hopefully they do a tribute to the late Teena Marie.

I wouldn't know where to begin with these nominations...

Didn't you know that it is mandatory that all awards shows MUST nominate Beyonce whether she has new music out or not? I guess they don't care if others deserves more recognition with that slot. The ole, "let's nominate one of our big crossover artist/s so they can help boost ratings" thing can backfire too. Sometimes these big crossover artist don't feel the need to appear at these type of awards shows, especialy if they're getting love in Grammyland, etc....

But with her preparing for a new release, I'd be surprised if she wasn't there. Hell, by mid-June, we'll all be completely exhausted with the Beyonce Machine, (if we weren't already).

Beyonce is always at the BET Awards. I believe she's been there every year except last year and in 2008. And she's always nominated. Always. It doesn't even matter if she does anything or not. That's two times in a row that she's taking up someone else's spot.

And believe me, she's got an album coming out. She'll be there. A performance is a done deal.

You should see how many females in the hip-hop and R&B categories who weren't nominated and actually released something last year or this year are responding to her nomination. Keyisha Cole and Lil Kim are just spilling out harsh criticisms toward the BET awards on Twitter. People just go crazy over little worthless awards....stupidity!

Reports have confirmed that her album comes out two days after the ceremony, on June 28th. Just another publicity and hype stunt to help push an album and singles. Not surprising. BET always caters to her. Can't believe they think of her as a legend now...WOW!

I guess no one has seen Anthony Mackie's brilliant-yet-underrated performance in Night Catches Us? I mean, this isn't the BAFTA or Oscars I know, but come on really. Not surprised though. Boy did his little crybaby-fest, MJ tribute last year and released a hit album this year, that has gotten nothing but mixed to bad reviews and now they gotta pour awards on him...it's not TV, it's BET! lol

Last years BET Awards was better than last years VMAs. It was actually pretty solid. The shade Prince threw at Goat No Songz that night is a memory that will forever be ingrained in my mind.

Oh and this.

That was classic because Prince didn't show up until the third hour and Trey performed at the third hour. As soon as he did a bit of "Purple Rain", the cameras went to catch Prince's reaction!

LOL at this list. R. Kelly should have at least been nominated for something.

The sportsman is always the same guys (Kobe, LeBron, Carmelo, Vick) plus a new one every year and the sportswoman is always Serena.

LOL at Chris Brown being nominated for actor of the year.

I mean the regular Male R&B artist awards. Can't believe they knocked him down to the Centric Awards.

And you know what that measnwhen you get bumped down to Centric?

I don't even know if I'm gonna watch this year, it's basically the BET Hip-Hop Awadrs now. BET needs to bring the COmedy Awards back.

Yeah I was a little shocked about that myself. Kelly hit it pretty big last year and this year with Love Letter, which was released at the tail end of last year. I can kind've accept why he is nominated for only a Centric Award though. Centric was the only channel that focused on Love Letter and carried its success from his dynamic performance at 2010 Soul Train Music Awards to now. The regular BET channel were on the hush about it, as I could see. But, he should've gotten a Best R&B Male nom. They given Bruno a nom in that field? He's as pop confection as anyone I've heard before. BET screws up everytime I tell you...disbelief

Same here. Only watch half of it for the Lifetime Achievement honorees and then, I turn it off. Too much. It's pummeled down by mess, mess, mess...and little to no quality music.
