Word has gotten out that this year's honoree for the Lifetime Achievement Award may be...

It's out on Wikipedia too: http://en.wikipedia.org/w...ment_Award

There's no word that Janet will be the honoree and I hope you're aware that people can edit pages on Wikipedia. So they're not a reliable source.

Probably, but they've already given Aretha a Walk of Fame award back in 2003. I don't know!

Babyface might be a contender too. He hasn't gotten a Walk of Fame or any award really. You never know with these crappy award shows.

They did! They were given out those awards from '95 until about 2003, before the regular BET awards ceremony was conceived and got bigger in views. They stopped broadcasting it back in 2003, after Aretha got it. The first artist that received the award was Michael Jackson.

She might be. She has a new album out plus she's gotten publicity for over 7-8 months now. This might be her year or Janet's. But the only thing that keeps me thinking that Aretha might not get it is because she's a Walk of Fame honoree, which BET coined as the highest honor they give artists.

If they do Janet they should have her brothers & sisters present it to her on stage.

Talk about their little sister before they bring her up.

I having a feeling it's between Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, & Patti Labelle.

Yeah... but then again... and Whitney got a Walk of Fame award AND a Lifetime Achievement Award so it's possible Auntie Ree still may get it.

Tbh, I haven't heard any rumors about Janet being an honoree. Just wishful thinking from her stans just like how they created the rumor that Janet would recieve a special award from the Billboard Music Awards. Instead we hear Beyonce is getting it, lmfao.

True! Don't you think that Whitney's LA award was a mistake, since it was their first year of doing an awards show? Whitney was 16 years in the game. BET covered that shit up when they gave Earth, Wind & Fire their due (and they tore the shit up too!)

Walk of Fame honorees:

-Michael Jackson (1995)

-Whitney Houston (1996)

-Babyface (1997)

-Boyz II Men (1998)

-Diana Ross (1999)

-Luther Vandross (2000)

-Patti LaBelle (2001)

-Stevie Wonder (2002)

-Aretha Franklin (2003)

-Smokey Robinson (2004)

BET Lifetime Achievement Award honorees:

-Whitney Houston (2001)

-EW&F (2002)

-James Brown (2003)

-The Isley Brothers (2004)

-Gladys Knight (2005)

-Chaka Khan (2006)

-Diana Ross (2007)

-Al Green (2008)

-The O'Jays (2009)

-Prince (2010)

You could be right Timmy!

Possible Contenders (Based on BET):

George Clinton

Dionne Warwick

Lionel Richie

The Temptations

Tina Turner

Babyface

Anita Baker

Donna Summer (?)

Stevie

Aretha

Patti

Betty Wright

Janet

The Four Tops

Cameo (?)

Possibly posthumous award for Teena Marie or Michael Jackson (Probably not-?)

Sly & The Family Stone (?)

Larry Graham (That's just a joke, but you never know...lol)

Speaking of Patti, where is her Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction??? LaBelle (as a group) deserves it alone! Change of gears I know, but just wondering.

Beyonce nominated for Best R&B Female Artist really BET? Did she release any new material? Im not talking about her latest single. They most really need her star power to generate ratings for the show ...hence the nomination.

The BET Awards is now in the same league with the Grammys lacking real creditability. Hopefully they do a tribute to the late Teena Marie.

I wouldn't know where to begin with these nominations...

Didn't you know that it is mandatory that all awards shows MUST nominate Beyonce whether she has new music out or not? I guess they don't care if others deserves more recognition with that slot. The ole, "let's nominate one of our big crossover artist/s so they can help boost ratings" thing can backfire too. Sometimes these big crossover artist don't feel the need to appear at these type of awards shows, especialy if they're getting love in Grammyland, etc....

But with her preparing for a new release, I'd be surprised if she wasn't there. Hell, by mid-June, we'll all be completely exhausted with the Beyonce Machine, (if we weren't already).

Good points. Hell Beyonce comes out with her new album the same week as the BET awards, so unfairly, they gotta play it safe and give her a nom. I mean, look at the Billboard Awards this year? People were furious that she gets a whole new award this year: "the Millenium Award," which probably will never be given out ever again....what type of shit is that? It's just for hype and promotion. That's the summation of all these industry award shows.

True, but you never know. They could do a little video webcam broadcast from Berlin to the BET telecast? They might give it to her days before the ceremony itself and then shoot a little fake video for them to show during the tribute. These industry award shows done that shit for years.

But I think it's either Stevie, Patti, Babyface, or Aretha!
