Rapper M-Bone shot and killed

Rap group Cali Swag District’s M-Bone was shot and killed late Sunday night in Inglewood, Calif. Details are sketchy.

From E Online:

“The victim was sitting in the passenger seat of a car when another vehicle pulled up alongside and unloaded “at least two rounds” into the car, according to Lt. Michael Marshall. “It looks like they knew each other. It was not a traditional drive-by.”

...........

Cali Swag District had a huge hip-hop hit last year with “Teach Me How to Dougie.”

M-Bone, also known as Montae Talbert, was 22.

Sad indeed. Just goes to show you that there is a gutter dark side to this culture and there's no peace in this business.

As opposed to all those other senseless killings that occur every day in the nation and in the world? Are we to blame those on country music? Maybe muslim wedding songs? confused

I was thinking money but that's even more plausible. Men do crazy things over women.

Rap is not to blame for it. It's people's stupid reactions to someone to take them out. Nothing to do with rap.

There are new reports circulating that his killing may have something to do with jealousy. A new video has surfaced with two of his group members reminiscing him. It seems as if he was shot a day after his birthday...sad world we live in! We gotta influence our kids in another way.

Your blanket judgement of a whole genre and culture with such a concise and eloquent assessment is brilliant. You must be some kind of genius. Right up there with Einstein, aren't cha? I really like the way up completely skipped over showing any sort of compassion over the death of a kid in a group famous for a rap song about a DANCE, thereby downplaying the significance of his death as if he was of no value and jumped right into your judgement. Spot on! You're amazing!

I guess President Andrew Jackson was a rapper since he liked dueling.

falloff You all gotta stop! lol

We all know that rap music and culture can't take much of the heat. It's our corrupted system, society, family structures, etc. But rap and hip-hop ain't the sole blame and I get sick of the scrunity. Sure it's in a bottom-of-the-barrel state, but at least we can control what we watch and hear. I think we are getting off the point that another young person has fallen under from an unnecessary form of violence that many young people face everyday. disbelief

Too young to die, I agree. But it was the life he lived, the people he associated with. I know I'm brilliant and amazing to deduce this. Perhaps I am some kind of genius, up there with Einstein, only with primitive cultures.

Until more facts come out, it's purely speculation at this point. Jealous girlfriend, Robbery, or as you say, people who he associated with can not all be ruled out.

Yeah its sad, the music had nothing to do with this, this is shit that goes down in Clubs etc...i have no doubt it was over a chick, probably some trashy ho in the club he looked her way etc... so he got shot, very sad, but this is not RARE, this BS goes down all the time, shootings over nonsense, mainly cause males cant keep their dick ego in check, they go with their girls to clubs and they look like strippers and they wonder and get mad when another dude looks at her, well what the fuck, dont bring her out like a ho then.

I didn't say a word about his race.

I was a little harsh, but I can't be tolerant of a culture that practically advocates drive-by shootings. I would actually say I'm a little mad at the kid for getting himself into a deadly situation. "Wasn't his fault". Look at his picture. It's not hard to imagine that he wasn't going to live to 23. It's not terribly nice but I was equally unsurprised when Dimebag Darrel got killed onstage a few years ago. Like, you don't say. Never saw that coming.

If you guys refuse to see this, what's it to me.

I'm sorry but this has to be some of the most ignorant and flat out absurd I've seen on the org in a long time. What do you mean a culture that advocates drive-by shootings? Are you serious right now? Do you actually believe that drive-by shootings or shootings period are limited to that community of people who enjoy and create rap music or is this a slam against minorities in general? I mean if you want to be ignorant then you might as well say you can't tolerate white culture and metal/country music because it advocates the killing of pregnant women, snorting cocaine and the raping of children. Let's just all generalize and make bigotted uninformed remarks shall we? That seems to go ver very well on the org.

You say "look at his picture" as it's not hard to imagine that he wouldn't live to be 23. I see a picture of young black male. I don't see him pointing a gun or a knife or having a noose around his neck so what exactly is it about this picture that screams "death before the age of 23"? Is it just because he's black? Is being a black male some new death sentence now?

If we refuse to see your ignorance, what's it to you? Well, only you can answer that since you feel so compelled to show everyone how ignorant you're being right now.

p.s.

you didn't mention his race and you didn't have to. we hear you loud and clear.

I take it you've never listened to much rap music. Gangsta rap is not what rap is all about, just like Charles Bronson, Chuck Norris, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and mafia films doesn't represent all movies. Going by your logic The Beatles are advocating killing people because they recorded songs like Run For Your Life and Maxwell's Silver Hammer. Drive bys have existed long before there were any rap records. People have been killing each other for centuries. There's violent lyrics in country, blues, metal, rock, opera, etc. There's violence and all kinds of weird stuff in the Shakespeare stories they make you read at school. Why does no one complain about "Shakespeare culture"? They want to blame something else, like the people who sued Ozzy Osbourne for their son's death because he had a song called Suicide Solution or saying that listening to Goth records made some kids shoot up a school. If people are going to do something, they were going to do it in the first place. Kids play Grand Theft Auto, but they're not getting in a real car to run over people. The environment someone is in is more of an influence than their entertainment.

Profiling based off a man's occupation is as wrong as "racial" profiling and it's clear what's going on here. Chill on that pre-judging.
