I didn't say a word about his race.

I was a little harsh, but I can't be tolerant of a culture that practically advocates drive-by shootings. I would actually say I'm a little mad at the kid for getting himself into a deadly situation. "Wasn't his fault". Look at his picture. It's not hard to imagine that he wasn't going to live to 23. It's not terribly nice but I was equally unsurprised when Dimebag Darrel got killed onstage a few years ago. Like, you don't say. Never saw that coming.

If you guys refuse to see this, what's it to me.

I'm sorry but this has to be some of the most ignorant and flat out absurd I've seen on the org in a long time. What do you mean a culture that advocates drive-by shootings? Are you serious right now? Do you actually believe that drive-by shootings or shootings period are limited to that community of people who enjoy and create rap music or is this a slam against minorities in general? I mean if you want to be ignorant then you might as well say you can't tolerate white culture and metal/country music because it advocates the killing of pregnant women, snorting cocaine and the raping of children. Let's just all generalize and make bigotted uninformed remarks shall we? That seems to go ver very well on the org.

You say "look at his picture" as it's not hard to imagine that he wouldn't live to be 23. I see a picture of young black male. I don't see him pointing a gun or a knife or having a noose around his neck so what exactly is it about this picture that screams "death before the age of 23"? Is it just because he's black? Is being a black male some new death sentence now?

If we refuse to see your ignorance, what's it to you? Well, only you can answer that since you feel so compelled to show everyone how ignorant you're being right now.

p.s.

you didn't mention his race and you didn't have to. we hear you loud and clear.

yet more proof rap music and culture SUCKS and is for LOSERS

The persistent and pervasive violence that's encircled our community 24/7 killed that young man.

"You are making a generalizations... "

The don't get much "pub" but those conscious brother's and sister's in Rap music are exalted members of our community. Just in case you didn't know, if you want to listen to any really good Rap music, you have to search for it. The key word here, s-e-a-r-c-h f-o-r i-t.

Rap music isn't the reason why our community has continued a downward spiral into gutter, but it does reflect long standing pathologies. Its very important that you under- stand this . . .

My advice to you, in the future don't make sweeping statements, be specific in your criticism. I would also recommend you throw in a couple sentences about white people wrongful deeds... you'll save yourself a lot of grief.

wink

points taken. Long standing pathologies sounds about right.

Does hip hop music do more reflecting of these? Or contributing to them?

I hated on Dimebag Darrell. Wasn't that enough for you?
