She surely has one of the most beautiful voices I ever heard of anybody, male or female.

I'm loving it too, I'm addicted to Sade...but I wouldn't say the best female singer. The most alluring, intriguing, classy and one of a kind.

I am not a fan of Sade.

I am seeing her in 9 days. Can't wait.

She makes relaxing music and the whole bit, but she's nowhere near the "best female singer of the last 25 years."

exactly, this is not opera, this is popular music; we all know that the best singer of the last 25 is Montserrat Caballe... lol

but, in pop, I certainly prefer someone like Sade than the histrionics of Whitney or Mariah...

I don't like her voice at all, but she has great music. The best singer of the Last 25 years? No.

Most overrated perhaps...as far as I know i haven't heard anything new from her since the early 90's !!!

Sade had some nice songs earlier in her career. Is she the best female singer to come along within the past 25 years? Definately not. She has a nice voice and all but it has no depth to it. She's never moved me as a singer.

she makes songs to fit her voice but she is not a great singer, and even though i am a fan all her music basically sounds the same. pre-drugs whitney = greatest voice over the last 25 years and one of the greatest of all time...chaka,whitney and stephanie mills are my favorite voices of all time.

Well, Curtwill1975 did use the words "living proof." I think the word "living" kind of disqualifies Billie from this particular conversation.

and check that Sade compilation out Even if you're not impressed by her smooth voice (perhaps too smooth for some people) , the songs are EXCELLENT neo-soul/quiet storm/funk stuff...
