Trapped in The Closet: think R. Kelly should leave it alone or not?

I guess something MUST'VE convinced R. Kelly that doing some "hip-hopera" was silly since he hasn't come up with any new chapters since 2006 (or 2007, I forget). I actually think this was entertaining (and confusing) just for people to get a laugh either with him or at him, but I guess we'll never know about "the package". Think he should continue or just continue doing what he's doing with Love Letter?

Just a question. lol

He stated about 1-2 years ago that he was working on more chapters. I believe he said he was going to do about another 15 or so. I actually enjoyed them a lot. I didn't really care for the chapters that involved the cop, his wife and the midget...

the package is jail slang for HIV/AIDS

Funny this was mentioned, I watched the first half of them yesterday after so long and forgetting about them. Man if that music and some of those melodies were saved for a better song, he would have had a classic!

I think he needs to just let it go now. The whole thing has pretty much run its course.

This was entertaining, but I wouldn't want him to continue down this road........

You know what Timmy? I never had so much fun laughing my ass off though all the chapters, after Part 2; it became so hilarious after that. Funny thing is, I caught the remainder of it, starting from Part by error, while surfing the channels on my tv one day, and had no idea the remainder chapters had already taken place after Part 2, when it first aired. I could not believe the silliness and twists and turns it took after that. It was entertaining yet silly and comical at the same time.

Yeah I knew it got ridiculous after part 7. All that buildup and then "Rosie the nosy neighbor" comes out. lol That's when things got weird. evillol Maybe that's why he stopped. falloff They became more self-parodies than an actual serial that by the time they got to the "package" chapters it had lost the plot. Hell it lost the plot after Chapter 3. lol

R Kelly need's to stick with what he is doing now! Love Letter is a fantastic album. R has been out of his element all last decade!, and Closet was ridiculous. re watching it.... it's just an embarrassment lol

I have the first couple chapters on DVD but this is when it was hot that whole saga is played out now. The first chapter is the BEST.

It's really good. Entertaining, great melodies/music and really funny at times - as someone said 'Rosie the nosey neighbour' was brilliant how he sung it so seriously with inflections and singing it so well makes it funnier lol

He knew that it was funny of course and I think he should do more if he wants to because it's good.

What makes me laugh though is that people are feeling Love Letter and say 'he should carry on with that and not do TITC anymore' but if he came out with more stuff like Love Letter it'll be 'He's not moving on. Just the same. We've got Love Letter already'. Nobody can ever win really. razz

And anyway, who's to say he can't he to more chapters and new music? How comes some people say it like it's one or the other? lol

*rant over*

lol good, I know you know what I mean though. But I think R Kelly is a great artist and singer anyway, and seeing him live in London a couple months ago cemented that for me so I usually like whatever he does unless it is total crap like with any artist *no stan*

I listen to Adam & Joe's commentary on the first few parts of Trapped In The Closet on a regular basis.

I still think he should just stop now though.

Damn... I forgot all about Trapped In The Closet. I still have the 1-12 DVD. lol In like 2005 or so, the first 5 were all over TV, then the 12 chapter DVD came out soon after. I don't remember when it was, a few years ago I think, chapters 13-?? came out on DVD, and that's the last I heard of it.

lol Yes, it started getting a bit minstrel and stupid. Thing is, I never knew it had so many episodes, until I caught it by error on tv. Parts of it was so hilarious and far-reaching, I couldn't stop laughing.
