I do think this album is very dope! It had some videos [Getting Up, Move, & Life Is Better] but I don't know if it won any awards though...

Nope.

Perfectly produced IMO, even though I prefer Kamaal The Abstract nod

Didn't know there was a video for the song with Norah Jones, T4P. Loved his joint with Ray & D too.

I love the Renaissance and it is certainly one of my favorite hip hop records. I saw Q Tip perform a couple of summers ago and he was fantastic with both his solo material and Tribe songs.

My favorite songs from the Renaissance:

Gettin Up

You

Move

Very good album, indeed. I love "Gettin' Up" and the song with Norah Jones.

This was/is a great and funky album. I remember I purchased it the same day Obama won the Presidental Election, which just so happened to be the day it was released. I was floored by the production and Tip's legendary style. He hadn't lost nothing. I too prefer Kamaal The Abstract over this, but there have not been many hip-hop releases that have moved me as much as The Renaissance and that's the truth.

So many cuts on this brilliant album I just couldn't stop playing:

Yeah, It was in my top 3 of that year. VERY good album. Still spins often here & always brings a smile (as does anything that's the "good shit" in Hip Hop these days.)

This album has gotten a lot of spins for me razz i think it deserved to be a WAYYYYY bigger hit but eh w/e people are to busy wanting to hear Lil Wayne & Wiz!

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

YES!!! We had a thread discussing this album about 6 months ago and it unfortunately had no major hits but should have! It's an excellent CD and I still pull this out during the Summer! Perfect sunshine music.

Favorite tracks include: Getting Up, We Fight/We Love, You and Life is Better with Norah Jones

There was also a video for ManWomanBoogie that was pretty cool. Excellent CD from an extremely talented dude. Whoever made the call to shelve the Kamaal CD should be tried for treason against real rap!

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!
