I Really want some opinions on this, i am very confused as to how the whole... ''hits'' system work's out ok there's the obvious like hit's when you go like top 40, top 20, top 10 number 1 etc.

to me if your song hit's on the billboard hot 100 regardless of whether it is at number 100 or number 1 it is a hit. I mean that is the chart the determines every genre and what everyone's listening to so if someone make's it to like idk 68 why is it considered a bomb? yet when say a band like Megadeth for example goes to number 72 with Symphony Of Destruction it's considered a huge hit cause i guess metal doesn't go on the charts often like that.

I mean say someone like Banarama who is considered a 2 hit wonder by many but are said to have the most hot 100 entries ever by a female artist's there just not top 40?

so that means something like If I Was Your Girlfriend was a hit even though it never charted as high as U Got The Look..

Does anyone else agree/disagree with this?

What about the other charts? i think it's quite important if your on ANY chart at all think of someone like Ozzy who has tons of hits but a lot of them where on the modern rock chart but there seen as huge hits?

Jimi Hendrix technically is seen as a one hit wonder technically by some people because he only one top 40 hit but we know that is hog wash
