Battle of the Stevie cops: Rahsaan Patterson vs John Legend. Ok, these fuckers both have massive love for Stevie and it shows. Which Stevie cop is the best. John Legend was a slight favorite for me. Rate the song not the video:

Never got a Stevie vide from Rahsaan Patterson. He sounds like he's a graduate of the school of Chaka Khan.

I don't see anything similar between Rahsaan and Stevie.

Pretty much. His debut CD is off the chain though. Most slept on soul album in a long time. I return from the stone crib, bringing verbal milk, a stool, and a bib.

Oh Rashaan is DEFINITELY from the school of Stevie, alright. Stop By is so Stevie it ain't even funny. That being said, Rashaan is one of the most slept on singers in the business. Dude has an incredible voice. John can sing but he sounds like a lounge singer to me. Rashaan has talent and character in his voice.

Rahsaan is his own man, John is, as Blaque said, a lounge singer. If you wanna hear Stevie clones, Glenn Lewis is your man.

It would probably be helpful for you to explain what you mean when referring to “Stevie cops”. Are you talking about vocals, music arrangements, content, production? What are you specifically trying to say? I own all of Rahsaan Patterson’s music and have never felt a Stevie connection in any way. I know much less about Legend but have never thought of Stevie with respect to him either.
As already mentioned there are some artists that are eerily reminiscent ala Glenn Lewis or Donnie. But the two you have highlighted are not obviously so, so I’m curious what you are looking at.
And since Glenn Lewis was mentioned, I must say his vocals on Stay With Me made me do a double take, he sounded so much like Stevie. But the song remains a favorite for me. We have shut a party down dancing to this.

Rahsaan is the ONLY male sing that reminds me of Chaka Khan's voice. Stevie's influence is there, but the ladies' influence is more pronounced.
John Legend is more of a 2nd generation Carl Thomas than a Stevie Wonder cop.
