Bobby's reportedly been sober for about four years now.

From what I hear, her daughter needs to be in rehab as well

According to her rep, Whitney's doing this to "cleanse" herself so she can get prepared for the "Waiting to Exhale" sequel she's doing.

According to fresh reports, Whitney Houston has checked herself into a rehabilitation clinic.

Whitney Houston has checked herself in to an out-patient rehabilitation program … but it’s not for drugs or alcohol … TMZ has learned.

A source directly connected with Whitney tells us … Houston enrolled in the program around 10 days ago. The program allows Houston to go out in public … as long as she has a monitor.

Just last weekend, Houston was enjoying herself at a Prince concert in L.A. … with her daughter right by her side.

Our source is not saying why Houston is seeking treatment … but insists it’s not drug or alcohol related.

We’re told, “She’s cleansing herself to get ready for a new movie.”

You already know media outlets are cooking up ways to spin this. In any case, for Whitney’s sake, let’s hope this is indeed “cleansing for a movie role”.

The singer’ rep has confirmed her voluntary treatment is in fact for drugs and alcohol related issues and functions as part of her long-standing recovery.

People fail to realize before you can be cast in a movie the studio has to be able to insure you. ...So sometimes actors have to cleanse themselves or have a clean bill of health before the studios will give them insurance.

I wish peeps would leave her alone. She is still alive and trying to live her life. She is not hurting anybody.

Past? I repeat, a sober person does not need rehab to cleanse. Robert Downey Jr. was able to secure insurance immediately upon testing negative for drug use. The only reason Whitney would need to "cleanse" herself is if her drug use was current. Aint no shame in relapsing so don't be making up ish.

Its always unfortunate to see talented singers go through situations like these. Whitney was so talented, and then the drugs ruined everything.

But people need to stop blaming Bobby for her problems. She's responsible for her own issues. She wasn't that innocent of a person like the media portrayed her as- or her record label like to portray her as.

I'm sure many people never thought Whitney was some holy Mary type but most probably didn't think she was some gutterbut hoodrat either. To this day, I believe Bobby took a decent woman and brought out the worst in her. Crack and freebasing were not in her future else she would have gone that route wayyyy before Bobby came along as she achieved major success prior to becoming involved with him. Ole dude was smoking and drinking it up before and after Whitney and the only thing that stopped him was going to jail and public embarassment plus the loss of his money in the divorce.

Bobby may not have corrupted Whitney but he definitely encouraged her to be less than her best.

Isn't that bolded part just a rumor put out by the anti-Whitney crowd though? I've heard about her cussing and drinking days during her sophmore album but she was never what she became when she hooked up with Bobby. Drinking in and of itself is no big deal. Hell, even smoking weed is no big deal but all that other stuff.

Didn't she even admit to Oprah that she started using the coke because Bobby was doing it or had introduced her to it? Remember, this is a woman who was a fashion model and aspiring actress before becoming a singer. I'm not saying she was goody two-shoes but there is no evidence to suggest that she was the full out crack ho that she became once Bobby entered her life. I just don't believe she was doing 8 balls before she met Bobby. Heck, even Mary J started in on drugs to self-medicate and deal with depression over various things that we don't need to get into here.

That's why I don't believe that Bobby was pulling the strings. He was doing some dumb shit too but I doubt he's ALL to blame though.

I remember that reality show. They were both slaves. A sad thing to watch. Two incredibly dysfunctional people with a bunch of kids in tow. I've lost track of how many baby mommas Bobby has.
