Deleted their album after awhile. Weren't they one of the first who signed in Quincy Jones' Qwest label?

Yeah, they were an early one ('83......with the literal "first act" being George Benson's "Give Me The Night" album in '80).
They were mostly known for their ballads (which I always found "copycat-ish" and schmaltzy). But they had some JAMS, too. "Walk The Streets" (off the 1st album) and then the 12" from the second album with the remixes of "Contact" & "Make It Work" were hittin pretty hard for that time period.
Here are the album mixes...far inferior to the remixes, but you get the idea:
A better ballad (imo, lovely):

I have their debut album on vinyl. They were like an early version of Ready For The World....jeri-curled dudes borrowing heavily from the Minneapolis Sound but they had a few great songs."Walk The Streets" from the first album is an excellent funk jam.The lead singer tried really hard to hit those Princely high notes, lol.

Gave this album a few spins a few years back, liked a few songs.
Interestingly enough, Jeff Bass was the guitarist in this band. He then moved into hip-hop production and then discovered and developed Eminem. Jeff actually has more production credits on Eminem's material than Dre does. |

Yes I love this song. "Friends" forever...
"I'm trying to tell you that you are my friend and we'll be together until the end, yeah..."

When I first heard "Don't Go" on the radio back in 1983, I called the radio station and asked them if it was either Prince or The Time because it sounds a lot like "Oh Baby" by The Time. Also when I heard it, it was right around the time that Prince would normally be releasing a new album and I had been waiting for a new album. Remember, Prince didn't release an album in 1983 because he was filming "Purple Rain" at the time but I didn't know that. I was waiting and waiting for a new album to come out because everyone released an album a year back then and to skip a year was unheard of back then. Then, they started playing "Delirious" on the radio regularly and it was long after the "1999" album had gone out of style and I was like....."What the fuck?". Andy is a four letter word.

Ditto. I remember sitting in my barber's chair when i first heard this song. I was about 10. The barber asked me,"Who do you think that is?" I thought about it for a second and the first person to come to mind of course was, "Prince." Didn't really notice the strain in this guy's vocals back then.
