LOL. No it wasn't.

Totally loving all the music posted here....Shows that the 80's just rocked musically...even without mentioning the Big 3.

You had so much to chose from that yes the 80's had the iconic MJ and madonna and somewhat Prince, but you also had HUGE albums from Springsteen, Billy Joel, John Mellencamp ruled rock males, the cars, and then the other HUGE bands like Duran,U2 Rem Inxs Depeche,Jovi etc... that all were putting out quality records then and now, and then as you got later in the 80's, Guns N Roses, Aerosmith came back, Richard Marx Taylor Dayne, Expose all were freaking huge. I mean the list goes on and on, im compiling one right now, but it clearly shows that handing this decade to just those 3 is IMPOSSIBLE, the 80's were the last great musical decade.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Wow. I haven't heard this in many many years. And in the spirit of the 80s, I can't forget their cameo on What's Happenin' Now.
