^ I doubt that's the real reason it's not doing as well on the charts as "Born This Way". Besides I think that's been perceived as a joke. It was too overly dramatic to be taken serious.
I honestly don't even get why the song was supposed to be controversial. The same with the video. I think the hype of it is the reason it's stalling a bit. I still call it a hit though.
Gaga's putting out "The Edge of Glory" tomorrow. It's unsure if the song is the third single (after Gaga hyped that "Marry the Night" would be the next one) or just a promo song.

Flopping might be too strong of a word but it's been getting negative updates for the past three of four days now. It's probably the hype I agree.
Beyonce's the one that's flopping. She's 104 on I-Tunes.
lawd, I'm buddhist. I ain't going to hell. Maybe she's coming back as a cockroach. sheeeit.
Anyways, I like this one ever more.... This girl at least makes some sense.
You're a real fucker. You act like you own this place--ParanoidAndroid <-- about as witty as this princess gets! I hope everyone pays more attention to Sags posts--sweething

Thriller took elements from musicals like West Side Story and made them modern (for that time), and really cranked music videos up a notch.
It was also an important foretelling of what MJ was going to end up looking like in real life after the release of Bad.
I think that's why I don't get it
and !
I think the big deal about Thriller was it was a catchy cool "Halloween horror" song (sounded nothing like the other top 40 at the time on the pop charts, even if did sound generic for what was on the R&B charts), cool dance choreography, and totally original music video that was like a mini-movie. (If you're talking about the song/video for "Thriller" and not the entire album)
I don't think it really matters what some of Gaga fans think of Mj lol I mean I see a lot of Justin Bieber fans screaming "JB is the new king of pop" everyday *yawns*

I love her. This is what the song is about to me. I don't understand why people started to talk about Jesus and the bible and things
It's. a. pop. fucking. song.
Judas was one of Jesus' disciples in the Bible. If the song is actually about Judas, and not Jesus, then the song makes perfect sense (at least, as much sense as it is able to make coming from Gaga), because Judas betrays Jesus and blah blah blah. If the song is talking about Jesus, then the song makes absolutely no sense.
But I understand what you mean about it being a pop song. 1) It's coming from Gaga 2) It's considered pop music. Obviously it will be secular, it's clearly not a gospel song

I just think that the lyrics are very straightforward, I don't know why people started to read so much into it.

It’s a promo single I believe and I thought you don’t keep up with her anymore
