Man, I'm LOVING that "Judas" video. She is truly taking the music video back to that MJ-esque video-as-an-artform realm, which has been deficient for years. Out of these young chicks (RiRi, Bey, Brit-Brit, Xtina, etc.), Lady Gaga is truly in a class all by herself as far as creativity goes.

*side note: I see glimpses of Janet's "Escapade" in certain parts of the video, but will that ever get a mention? Probably not.

I was getting some Westside story/beat it vibes in this but it’s alright. I don’t know people want her to tone it down and when she does it’s “boring” and when she’s over the top people say she’s an attention whore it’s really a love/hate with her for people lol.

I’m still looking forward to her album but this born this way “era” has been underwhelming for me and I say this as a big fan

I watched the whole the from start to finish and...I didn't like it.

It goes beyond that. I don't mind the super-obvious religious undertones mainly because I don't feel she delved deep enough into them to actually be controversial. The fashion is pretty cool though, but the dancing was meh and her makeup, to me, was aiight. And I didn't follow the storyline well, it wasn't very clear. There's not one thing in the video that I really LOVED, so it ended up not "hooking" me like her old videos used to. I think that the public is taking 2 seperate paths with Gaga, the people who liked her music before either LOVE is now, or are becoming disenchanted with her music and persona as a whole. Put me in the latter category.

time flies.

That's pretty much how I felt about it. Usually, her videos make me like the songs even more, but I'm still lukewarm about this one...

Honey, stop talking and just create the music.

Such is the taint of the Reality TV Generation. If Lady Gaga had come out in the 80s, she would've been hailed as a post-modernist pop star with avant garde artistic flair. A female Warhol, if not a dolled up art school brat making house music with industrial beats.

Yeah, but she didn't. That's the problem here.

LMAO I know, and it's really a shame. Crystal Gayle would more than likely get a "this video is similar to" mention before Janet would *SMH*

This woman is a cheap copy of Madonna.

Nope. She's a completely original Gaga. Madonna has done some wild shit in her day, but Gaga takes things to Grace Jones-ian proportions and then some. And then she's not completely like Grace either. She's so many different things rolled into one, yet uniquely herself.

i like gaga, but her videos are...well...not that exciting or provocative(if thats what she is going for). they are shock for shock's sake.

i havent seen any videos from gaga that are as interesting/provoking/themed as well as some of Madonna's (i wont start a list war here).

this video like the others has no central identifiable theme, aside from constant costume changes and implied blasphemy...YAWN

Gaga is *totally* boring. The only thing interesting about her is her gimmicky image; her music is either bad or just average. It doesn't live up to the smokescreen, I know that. Maybe she does have talent, but clearly any talent she has isn't what she's aiming to be particularly known for. She'd rather get peoples attention as some offbeat mixture of Coked-out hipster urchin/Anita Bryant-in-reverse/Madonna wannabe than for whatever talent she might have behind it all. Take away those aspects and she's about as interesting as Tina Arena.

And from the looks of it, right now she's coasting largely on hype. Behind the exaggerated smoke of "Gaga," I'm already sensing more and more people being less and less impressed by her latest music, while growing increasingly weary of her weirdness and stunt tactics. Sure, this album is going to be a hit on the basis of the hype behind her name, but I wouldn't be surprised if it sold just a little bit less than The Fame, and by the end of its run a public backlash against is underway.

She reminds me of what NKOTB/Paula Abdul were in the early 90s. Their Step by Step/Spellbound followups to their breakout Hangin' Tough/Forever Your Girl albums were released with large hype and fanfare, and radio arbitrarily got behind the first few singles that blew up huge...but by the closing singles, the music landscape that they defined was becoming played out and they wound up getting a cool reception.

Gaga is gonna burn out with this album; mark it. You can only get away with the shtick she does for so long before people decide they're over it. Then hopefully the scene that she inspired that allows cartoons like Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Britney, Rihanna and Taio Cruz to get away with such erratic electro-dance vapidness will implode...and a new, more subtle/serious scene will take over.

Why are you people so quick to liken Lady Gaga to Madonna all the damn time? There are a zillion other artists whom she has obviously drawn inspiration from, but to liken her to Madge whenever she friggin' breathes does a disservice to them both. And, your NKOTB/Paula Abdul comparison is just insane. As I said, Gaga has more creativity in her pinky than any of the artists in her genre and generation--which is evident in her videos and personal style. Can you see Britney or RiRi coming up with a concept like the "Judas" video?
