Madonna On Letterman 1994

Anyone seen the infamous interview with Madonna on Letterman in 94? where she drop's the F bomb many times, i am sure many Madonna haters will say she was being a bitch and is not classy.

But i found the interview hilarious, late night shows can be so by the book's sometimes where they ask the same questions over & over i think it was good to get a little shock and something different besides the usual same 4 questions.

Madonna is a bit pompous here but i find her rather funny in a strange way especially with her constant F bombs and Dave's censors going crazy lol what does everyone else think?

What about the Arsenio Hall interview? the one with Sandra that was probably her craziest i have seen

Funny, I just downloaded the uncensored version to re-watch a couple weeks ago. I remember this time period as the height of Madonna's sexplorations and many, especially middle-America, growing tired of her antics by then. I however couldn't get enough and loved her all the more for pushing the limit and working everyone's nerves. Even though I was a Dave fan, she had a point when calling him "soft" that night.

Love it, love it, love it!!! What a bitch! I love me some bitchy Madonna! She was so crazy that night! And the stuff about peeing in the shower and everything. Only Madonna can talk like a 12 year old boy one minute and like an outspoken bitch the next! I liked her challenging David Letterman so much about joking about her too much....can you imagine if mj or janet challenged Leno about mj jokes? I know there's a mad tv skit where the real Latoya did that and then a fake mj, janet and tito appeared smile

I remember my Dad and older brother telling me about watching it going "It was freaky! She was out of control!" I think they admired her balls and don't give a fuck-ness.

One of my FAVE TV moments ever. Dave looked visibly like he was sitting on a stash of pins & needles the whole time lol

Yeah she was smoking a cigarette but she did look like she blaze up some herb before she hit the Letterman seat. lol When I first saw it I was like "oh shit, some shit is about to pop off." I was about nine, almost ten when this interview took place in, I believe, February 1994. lol

I was used to seeing it so much in movies and shit I wasn't even bothered by it. biggrin You're talking to someone whose favorite shows were "Ren & Stimpy", "Def Comedy Jam", "Comic View", "The Simpsons", "Martin", "Married...With Children" and "Beavis & Butt-Head" who also occasionally would sneak to the back room to look at his dad's Playboys and I wasn't even shocked at Madonna's actions. I actually thought she was cool (still do). smile

I always found this an interesting clip. Not that I like
it a lot. She's not being funny or clever in her rudeness,
just blunt and repetative.

But as a cultural media reference it's fascinating. One of
those moments that are too bizarre to look away from.

Everytime I watch it I'm still surprised that the audience
doesn't boo her at some point. Why is that? Because it's
Madonna?

Cringe worthy as this clip is tho, it's still a whole lot
more entertaining than her later years. She should try to
find a better balance. Just like Prince. They go from one
extreme to the other.
