David Bowie fans: What's your favourite era musicwise and lookwise Musically, I think he made his best albums between 1976 and 1977: - Station To Station (1976) - Low (1977) - 'Heroes' (1977)
Regarding his looks, he looked best in the mid-1990s (that short brushed hair he has in the 'Im Afraid of Americans" video...)

Right now, my favorite era is the glam period (from Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane and Diamond Dogs), followed by the Berlin period.
Lookwise, tie between the 1997 look and the 1972-74 look.

Berlin era for me! Heroes especially idk why i just really adore the way he appears on the cover and in concert during that era, & Low
My other fav is Scary Monsters, it's so trippy and out there i love it, Scary Monsters is one of my favorite albums by him as well! Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

I love every friggin' Bowie era. Even the bad years/albums fascinate me, in a morbid/ironic way...lol
but my fav era is undoubtedly 77-80 (Low-Heroes-Lodger-Scary Monsters). The experimental, "european" years, with Carlos Alomar-George-Murray-Dennis Davis as the rhythm section and the collaboration of people like Eno, Adrian Belew or Robert Fripp, and produced by Toni Visconti. Amazing.

I can't decide which Bowie era I like the most, but some of my faves are:
Early 70s-"Ziggy"/"Diamond Dogs"
Late 70s-Early 80s-"Lodger"/"Scary Monsters"
Late 90s-2000's "Earthling"/"Outside"/"Heathen"/"Reality"
I liked Tin Machine, too.

i agree with joe tyler i love every bowie era. however in style of music: a tie between ziggy/hunky dory
in style of aesthetic: a tie between thin white duke and the scary monsters era
however hunky dory is my all time favorite album.

Artistically speaking it's hard to top the Station To Station / Low / "Heroes" -triplet. I see Lodger as distinct from the other two "Berlin era" albums and I think it's closer to Scary Monsters stylistically.
I love the overall package of the later Bowie the most. The albums from 1. Outside to Reality showcase an admirable creative rebirth and Bowie's live shows were really, really good all the way up to his retirement. Besides, that's when he looked the best to me.

Musicwise: The albums from Ziggy Stardust to "Heroes" Lookwise: Young Americans era look and the Thin White Duke era look.

Lookwise, definitely the Ziggy Stardust look, I don't even find the rest of his "looks" any notable.
Musicwise however, I can't really choose, I love almost all the pre-90s stuff equally (except Young Americans I guess). I also kinda think the "Heroes" album is overrated, the title track is one of my all time favs but the rest of the album doesn't offer much, and the instrumentals were done better on Low already.

Music-wise, glam period all the way. I do love the Berlin stuff but find myself more likely to pop on Hunky Dory or Ziggy S for pleasure these days.
Look-wise, Station to Station is pretty sharp.

Definitely Labyrinth; both lookswise and musically speaking.

Changed my opinion on what I think is my favorite era.
Music-wise, it's the 1976-1979 "Berlin" period. Lookwise, it's the Earthling era from 1996-1997.
