Radiohead "The Butcher" Evokes Prince's Housequake

Stumbled across this extra song released from Radiohead after theiur latest King of Limbs release. It sure does sound like the beat from Housequake as mentioned in the review by Rolling Stone magazine! As someone mentioned on the King of Limbs review maybe they are intentionally stealing from Prince (one of the songs is titled Lotusflower) and now this song as a way to get back at Prince for not releaseing his cover of their song. Interesting...this sure would make for a great mashup with the original song!

From Rolling Stone...

Sorry, Radiohead fans — the band swears the only sequel you're going to get to The King of Limbs is these tunes. Both are superb electro ballads that would have fit King's moodier second half. "Supercollider" is familiar from the group's epochal 2008 tour; the stuttering drums on the new "The Butcher" evoke Prince's "Housequake," while Thom Yorke layers harmonies into a celebration of paranoid dread.

and not once have I thought "this sounds a bit like housequake".

That's because it does not, at all. lol

Another proof of that guys at RS are deaf. It doesn't sound like Housequake at all. On the other hand, this songs is awesome. I included Supercollider/Butcher in my TKL playlist. I might even add "These Are My Twisted Words".
