I want to re-read her book, I have the first version from an old bookstore I found years ago. I'll definitely read the new one too. I'm through with spending money at this point.

hee hee... yeah, i wasn't too into the first book, but it definitely wasn't the worst thing i've read. i don't like 'moon walk' either. the thing is, at least la toya was open about having a ghostwriter... the ghostwriter of 'moon walk' (shaye ayreheart- i know i'm spelling it wrong) is an open secret in the industry. 'dancing the dream' is a much better book- and of course it did horribly. it was to be done for the 'dangerous' tour, and it didn't work out. there were a lot of returns. doubleday never made an investment on the book. the posthumous edition of the book most likely did better. i have had two copies of the first edition in my lifetime, getting one for a dollar or so... now, you can't even find one cheaper than $250.

student: yeah some of her songs are really catchy from the 80's, and some from the 00's....I think she wrote from the heart in recent years, I liked that Home song for example, and I respect that she wrote a song for Jimmy Cliff instead of keeping it for herself and won a grammy. Her voice isn't all that, but maybe she would have made a good songwriter.

Also, she seems to have a great bond with the children, probably cause she never had her own and feels she is getting that now and keeping her brother alive through them. The Stockholm Syndrome theory makes sense too, which I believe can also lead to being used to being treated like a pushover or a doormat. I don't watch celebrity apprentice, but from fans' accounts of it, I could kind of sense she was battling with her past and trying not to let those patterns repeat.

SoulAlive: she wanted to be a nurse or get into business and was studying at one point at a college from what I heard. But Joseph didn't let her continue it.

robert: I can tell she likes business, and she did have her own brand of clothing (the headbands) in the 80's.

I'm not hating, i kinda like the woman, but those aren't really skills, are they? She likes business?

I wish she would have made something for her own...seems to me, especially the last 20 years, she was only focused on Michael...her interviews were about Michael, her books.

what exactly has his kids done to make you be such a fan of theirs?

i think for the kids, they haven't proven themselves to be conniving... i think they've seen everything their father went through, and learned quick.

so are you saying all the jacksons are conniving except mj's kids? i always try to keep my opinions to myself when it comes to the fans obsession with those kids.

Overall, I like Latoya. After The Apprentice, I just find her to be harmless.

Good call. From what i've seen it's always a joke when someone brings out the "obsession" card.

i'm actually not saying that... i was simply responding to the other comment in which you asked the same thing. what i do think is that all of the children (regardless of whose they are) are consistently caught in the middle of all the adults' dramas, when they don't need to be.

i don't personally have an obsession with the kids... i don't follow them really. i like to respect their privacy. i do think that adults in that family have proven themselves to be conniving, and the children have not. this is all i am saying.

Actually, I care.

I wonder what it must be like to be in the shaddow of such a famous and talented sibling. lol

Hell, even the lesser popular Jacksons like Jermaine are actually talented (I really like Jermaine's voice, actually).

...But Latoya disbelief

She's even bared it all and couldn't garner any attention. lol

I read her book a long time ago...I wonder how different this one will be from that one..other than she will not have to lie about her abuse with her boyfriend anymore.

The last one ended around the Dangerous Era I believe, and she went back home...her picutres were all taken down in the whole house and she said she was very much in a sad place.

Actually latoya's playboy issue was the highest selling, i don't know if it still is. I think she has done well given her situation, she never really even wanetd to persue a career in music and her first couple of albums are nice. michael said latoya was a good actor, i agree that she should have persued acting or modeling which she did a bit of. her whole period with jack gordon made her into a joke but i think she has rebounded well from that, people don't realize she is a victim of domestic violence.

I'm looking to see the book hit Jetzi's site. Jetzi has a wide collection of books on the Jacksons (particuarly Michael) but he has posted La Toya's book so maybe this will be another one to add to the list.
