Wanted -- New Music I just got an iTunes card for my birthday. I'm looking for some new music to check out, and the Org's been the biggest enabler of my hablt for new sounds.
Fire away with recommendations.
Thanks!

What kind of music do you normally listen to?

I listen to a little bit of everything, and I want to discover some new music, particularly soul, rock, electronica or hip-hop. I'm very open to new sounds. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

well, that is really broad I'll just share some of the musicians I've been itching to check out after watching SXSW clips....
Le Butcherettes (punkish/garage all girl rock band from Mexico)
Glasser (gets compared to Fever Ray quite a bit)
J*Davey (electro-soul...I'm a big fan)
Def Sound (this guy is so energetic live...he samples The Bird & The Bee here)
If you will, so will I | |

Since you like hip-hop, you should check out Kid Sister
I don't know why, but I'm in love with her recently

A lot of orgers would not agree with me, but I think Kelis' last album was near perfect

This came out last year, so not brand new. I very rarely listen to newer acts, but do listen to new stuff by veterans. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I was going to suggest J*Davey too, but their last two EPs including this song isn't on iTunes. Even if they were, why waste an iTunes card on them when you can get them from J*Davey's site for free?

I know, I know but based on what he's looking for, they seemed too perfect to not mention.
Plus, he has to buy The Beauty In Distortion / The Land Of The Lost! If you will, so will I
