What's strange about that? Maybe you don't understand the cajun in the song. I didn't know the Carpenters did this one. I mostly know the Fats Domino version, but it's an old song. Toni Childs Birth which opens her album A Woman's Work and Death which closes it. I have never been more emotionally exhausted listening to an album a the way she uses recurring themes and sound effects within these two songs is unmatched in my opinion.
