Culture Club Only 2 Good Albums?

So i have now listened to the original 4 Culture Club albums of the 80's i sadly need to get to that 90's one!

I found there first 2 albums to be great & the last 2... eh

Kissing To Be Clever has some great songs like You Know I'm Not Crazy, White Boy, I'll Tumble 4 Ya, Do You Really Want To Hurt Me, Love Twist.

Althogh the constant boy boy use of songs was a bit annoying they where mostly good songs.

Colour By Numbers is not doubt there best,

Black Money

It's A Miracle

Mister Man

Miss Me Blind

Melting Pot

Romance Revisited

Mystery Boy

Changing Every Day

These song's where interesting, and lots of different genres added to the mix, the whole album is fantastic i adore it.

Waking Up In The House Of Fire,......

The War Song is a good song, Dangerous man, Mistake No.3... besides that nothing on the album got my interest i felt the inspiration was gone.

The band admitted that the album was very fast in the making and not as well thought out,

From Luxury To Heartache oh man... this album to me was bad, I like Move Away, God Thank You WomAn & Work On My Baby that's it the rest of the album i was bored. And felt lke the band was not even trying anymore!, the songs just where not good musically or lyrically.

Has anyone heard there reunion album is it worth checking out?

Does anyone agree or disagree with there first 2 albums being the strongest?

I think George was out of it by that point, and that probably had something to do with it failing too. I remember the group appearing on the A-Team, which is probably not the audience that buys Culture Club records anyway. lol

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I really like Don't Mind If I Do too. I don't think From Luxury to Heartache is that bad. Heaven's Children on there is one of my all time favorite songs by them. The reason From Luxury to Heartache bombed was because George's drug problem became public knowledge and he couldn't perform anymore. If he had been more together, they could have released Heaven's Children as a single and it might have been a hit.

On the other hand, I dislike Waking Up with the House on Fire. I don't think I like one song on there.

But all of their albums sound like works of genius compared to George's recent solo work. His last album Ordinary Alien has to be the worst record I've ever heard. Just banging techno that goes on and on with no hint of a melody or craft. George really needs other musicians to help him out, but his ego doesn't want to admit that.

On the Waking Up With The House On Fire album, The Metal Song was also a good track.

I got their live album because it comes with a greatest hits cd. I think it was their VH1 special. Pretty decent sound too. They ruled MTV.

I like Waking Up With the House on Fire. I think it's underrated. The Medal Song, Mistake #3, Unfortunate Thing, The Dive, Don't Talk About It, Dangerous Man... loads of good pop songs.

From Luxury To Heartache is definitely a step down, but I do like Gusto Blusto, Move Away and a couple others.
