The Fifth Dimension: One Less Bell To Answer!

Another haunting pop song from the files of Freaky:

Why can't every pop song be like this? Lyrical, well sung, haunting, subtle, get's under your skin. You can just chill in the cut till the cows come home.

Thankfully Adele and others are bringing back real pop.

All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

Stunning. Marilyn McCoo's saddened vocals pirerced my heart on this one. Next to "This Guy's In Love With You", this is my favorite Hal David-Burt Bacharach compositon.

This is apparently TRUE, lol. I remember when The Fifth Dimension were considered somewhat "futuristic", lol.

I don't remember them being ON Laugh-in, but I remember an episode of Batman, when he and Robin were climbing the Bat-rope up the side of a building (...like they used to do), and some characters from Laugh-in sticking their head out the window, like they used to do in that giant wall skit on Laugh-in when the cast would open random doors/windows on that psychedelic wall, say something funny (or corny, as it was), before slamming the door back shut.

"Sock it to me, sock it to me, sock it to me". Before Saturday Night Live, we had Laugh-in.

Bob Mackie used to design her outfits, as well as many of Carol Burnett's outfits for The Carol Burnett Show.

That's the one! I got it reversed...the memory is starting to go... razz lol Batman was one of my fav shows as a litte kid. Green Hornet, too.

Luved those outfits! Didn't Mackie suggest the curtain rod for Carol's classic send-up of Gone With The Wind? lol

That may have been his idea, he was certainly the one who designed it though.

Oh Batman was classic! Some of those villains used to actually scare the Hell outta me, lol. Especially Cesar Romero as The Joker...

Cesar Romero as The Joker

Oh HELL naw! disbelief

But I even found The Penguin and Catwoman frightening, lol. They just seemed so evil, lol. And I loved how they used to skew the camera angle on tilt whenever they shot scenes of the villains lair, lol. I think that show was genius, for it's time.

I always wanted a utility belt like Batman, lol. He had EVERYTHING in that thing! lol

Loved the Batman episode when Batman & Robin teamed up with The Green Hornet and Kato too. Speaking of The Green Hornet, I'm downloading the movie remake with Seth Rogen right now (...hoping it's good, it looks good).

But anyway, I digress. Must be my senility kicking up, lol. grandpa Back to The Fifth Dimension: "One Less Bell To Answer".

Ah, I never allowed Aqarius to be put on my thread, one of the single shittiest songs ever to enter radio hitsville. Somebody must die. lol

Just because I like one song doesn't mean I like the band itself. I found the Fifth Dimension to be mostly shitty.
