Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis--THE NEW STYLE

Great track from the Mo' Money soundtrack. Are the female vocals Janet's? It sounds like her.

I never heard of this track when reading the title, but it just may be!!! It sounded familiar by the time I got to the beginning. It was used for auditions for the janet. era and tour!!!! It was very faint music I could hear when Janet was talking about it from an interview in that era, but I think that's what it was, so it may be her!

Cool, I never knew it was used for the auditions. It sounds like a sample of her vocals from one of the songs from "Rhythm Nation", maybe?

I think this is what it was, it's too faint to tell, but it makes sense with the timeline and connection....

I have this album and the credits for this song doesn't list anyone as a vocalist, so the voices must be sampled.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I figured the voices were sampled, but the female voice singing "Love" does sound like Janet.

The vocalist are Lisa Keith and Ann Nesby. the vocals are samples and used as instruments. The male voice is Jimmy Jam.

You know Jimmy? Tell him to get his arse back with Janet! lol That repeated "love" part in the song does sound a lot like Janet, though.
