Tori Amos will release her new, classical-inspired album Night of Hunters this September.

Her first work for classical music label Deutsche Grammophon, the release of Night of Hunters will be supported by tours of Europe and the US.

On her website, Toriamos.com, Tori has described the album as a “21st Century song cycle inspired by classical music themes spanning over 400 years”.

She added: “The protagonist is a woman who finds herself in the dying embers of a relationship. In the course of one night she goes through an initiation of sorts that leads her to reinvent herself allowing the listener to follow her on a journey to explore complex musical and emotional subject matter. One of the main themes explored on this album is the hunter and the hunted and how both exist within us.”

The European leg of her tour starts in Helsinki on September 28, with the UK dates taking place in November, starting at London’s Royal Albert Hall on November 2.

See Toriamos.com for details.

I received the email announcement yesterday as well. It will be interesting to hear how strong the classical influence will be.

No. Not all classical music is instrumental. Also, it is being related to song cycles, wherein "songs" are pieces that are sung.

For example, Rufus Wainwright's last album (All Days Are Nights) was called a song cycle by the artist...

When you look at the picture close up it looks NOTHING like the woman from Scarlet's Walk. I wish Tori would realise there's nothing wrong with looking your age.

Oh well, at least the album sounds interesting.

Cosmetic facial surgery has rendered her unrecognizable from before. She was so cute and bewitching before the decision to alter her appearance.

Yes, Tori has had some procedures done, but if you see pictures of her in concert recently she looks nothing like she does on this cover and really doesn't look that different from her younger self. This album cover has obviously been heavily Photoshopped. Tori likes to do strange things on her covers that she sees as artistic like her nursing the pig. This cover is more of that same type of thing.

If someone had told me in 1998 that in 2011 Tori Amos would physically resemble a cross between Cher and Michael Jackson I wouldn't have believed it.

Why has she done this to herself??
