Fleetwood Mac ~ Big Love

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I LOVE both versions....

The first one I heard was the version on The Dance. Being a guitarist, that was the first time I really paid attention to Lindsey Buckingham. Because of that, for just about all of 1997 into 1998 I'd become obsessed with Lindsey and Fleetwood Mac and even learned The Dance version of Big Love note for note at one point. Really, really hard to play...and a very impressive arrangement from a guitar standpoint.

For some reason, I was avoiding Tango In The Night and later Fleetwood Mac stuff, so I didn't hear the original until much later... When I did, I liked that version just as much as the acoustic one.

Both versions of this song are good but I prefer Lindsey's guitar work on the live version. He's a very underrated musician/producer/arranger.

To the gentleman with the cool hair who said that Tango In The Night matches Rumours. No.

I like fucking to this track.

It's one of my favorite music videos. It doesn't get a lot of recognition, because the song is not that famous.

I definitely know the song, but I think I did not have MTV back then

It's kind of a "forgotten hit". lol It doesn't really get played on those 80's pop stations today.

One of my favorites Lindsey tracks. I prefer the original to the way he does it live, but I still love it however it's done. I prefer the original version of Go Insane to his updated version too--but again, I'll take it any way he's doing it. He's easily one of the most underrated guitarists around.

Have you heard how he updates Trouble now? It's awesome stuff.

Anyway, Remaster, Expand both 80s albums now

If they ever remastered Tango In The Night, my ideal version would have:

CD #1- Original album

CD#2- "You & I (Part 1)"

12" mixes for "Big Love", "Seven Wonders", "Little Lies", "Family Man", and "Everywhere"

DVD- Videos for "Big Love", "Seven Wonders", "Little Lies" and "Everywhere" with commentary by the band members.

lol That's the only thing I remember about that video is Stevie moving her skirt around like that. I love that song!!! Probably my favorite from them.

This was essentially a Lindsey solo song, and was intended for his 3rd solo album. It's a classic single, and I've always loved 'Tango in the Night' overall... but it is in desperate need for a deluxe reissue with remastering.
