Best Kanye Album?

Yes a thread about Kanye iam sure this will get a lot of hate but idc, if you hate him then why come and discuss his albums?

Any who, for those of you who are fans what do you think is his best?

My vote still is on College Dropout.. All Falls Down, We Don't Care, New Workout Plan, I'll Fly Away, Through The Wire, Jesus Walks, Never Let Me Down, Slow Jamz

These are just a fine collection of song's, and for a debut album this was just incredible, he was still hungry and making great beats as well as writing great song's.

I have to go with My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy as second..

This record i am still listening to it months later & it just gets me every time. The Epic & glorious All Of The lights, the beautiful Blame Game minus that ending bleh it get's annoying. The dark Hell Of A Life, Power, Monster, Runaway, Lost In The World.

I think it was a great album with nothing but fantastic song's, it had rappers on there i can not stand but even they sounded good on this album.

Late Registration has 3 of my faves by him Roses, Diamonds From Sierra Leone & Gone. Not to mention the great single Gold Digger,Touch The Sky with Lupe all great stuff

Graduation had the huge hit stronger, & the song that got me into Kanye Homecoming with Chris Martin. Champion & I Wonder are great ons to, Flashing Lights was a great single to & of course the ending is Bittersweet Poetry.

808's even has some good tunes, Robocop & Welcome To Heartbreak not to mention Coldest Winter

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

College Dropout cause its his most 'Honest' and 'Pure' album, his other albums are classics but we saw a different Kanye , not the Kanye who was hungry for a chance just to get his words and beats out to the world. Kanye is always top notch when it comes to beats and their some songs on his latter albums that have doper beats than those on CDO, but its CDO where Kanye was true to his art or himself in general

As much as i love his later albums, you are absolutely right!, Kanye was as you said hungry, he was trying to be known as more then just a producer. He wanted to make his own voice, and he did in a big way... Even if College Dropout was his only album he would still have a great legacy as a producer for other artists and himself

I love each one..its akin to the Prince 80-88 run to me. But if I had to choose its MBDTF just because fo the growth, lyrics, and heart.

Late Registration, hands down! 808s & Heartbreak is a close runner-up, with The College Dropout as a thrid choice.

My ranking:

1. Late Registration

2. 808s & Heartbreak

3. The College Dropout

4. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

5. Graduation (this and MBDTF and fighting each other because the first six tracks of Graduation are arguably Kanye's greatest and tightest songs).

MBDTF is one album that I gotta get into more. Last time I listened to it in its entirety was last year and I was somewhat impressed, but there are too many guests on that album.

Wow interesting mix.....

808's is definitely not as bad as people make it out to be, but it's still my personal least favorite.

There are a lot of guests, and it takes getting used to but even the rappers i hate sounded good with Kanye, All Of The Lights is simply one of the finest songs Kanye has ever produced as is Blame Game.... Blame Game took awhile for me to really see it's greatness. But it is one of his best.. So Appalled is another excellent one

Yeah "Blame Game" and "Lost in the World" are killer 'Ye tracks, but "All of the Lights," despite its simple catchiness, hasn't grown on me totally yet. "Dark Fantasy" and "Goregous" are perfect openers though.

wink Kind of true!

I Feel Kanye could be in his prime right now... just hope he doesn't fall off soon confused

He already did that blah track H.A.M with Jay-Z & the so so Katy Perry collab

808s & HEARTBREAK, by farrrr. Every song spoke directly to me. His beats are simple, yet ON POINT!!! & he got so much hate for his "singing"... I just view it as him trying to use his voice, melodies & yes, AutoTune as an extension of his melodic ideas, which we all know, are definitely always TIGHT. For him to drop LOVE LOCKDOWN as the 1st single was ballsy, & when I 1st saw him world premiere it at the MTV Awards, I was hooked & knew I was going to love that cd.

If U came 2 get your 'Purple Rain' on...U'RE IN THE WRONG HOUSE!!!!!!

To me MBDTF is a cd with many guests that actually flows and feels cohesive unlike many others that seem to have to many cooks etc

Man , All Of The Lights is so epic and grand to me, the horns get me hyped. And Rhianna's yodel twang is sweet on it imo.

What a great sleeper of an album like Prince's 'Come' except stronger songs. I think its great as well, and about the things going on in his life making it seem all the more heartfelt. Sure he cant sing but it's the brilliance of it being raw and emotion-filled that makes his non singer voice a non factor in being able ton still enjopy it. Almost like hearing David Lee Roth or jagger doing a tune with their non technical voices but still rock n roll. Pinnochio's story is fucking brilliant.

My vote goes to, "Graduation". To me, it his most cohesive and to some degree, most experimental album to date. My favorite cut is, "I Wonder". I love how he used the Labi Siffre, sample.

As my fave hip hop artist of the past 10 years, I rank the albums as followed:

1a)Late Registration-We Major, Diamonds (remix), Touch the Sky

1b)MBDTF-Solid album and an evolution of concept and sounds

3)College Dropout-Good album, some filler. Skits were funny

4)Graduation-Album falls apart after Flashing Lights

5)808's-I like this alot, but some tracks needed editing

My favorites are College Dropout, Graduation and MBDTF. I feel his best album is MBDTF but I can see how people still say college dropout. I honestly feel he doesn’t have a bad album even 808’s had gems on there. Kanye keeps hip hop interesting I love him lol.

I think of them more as a cast.. as they all appear, disappear and then reappear again.. I thought it was well thought out as a concept, and I loved it.. sort of like listening to a movie... or something. I just got this great feeling when I first heard the album in full (especially after seeing the Runaway short film)

Late Registration is his best album start to finish. I had given up on hip hop in the 00's after 2001, but he sparked the interest again for me. I loved the music, lyrics, melodies etc. on it

I would rank 808's and Heartbreak next, it was his most creative and risky IMO and underrated. Love tracks like Robocop and Paranoia, and he's way better than Drake who ripped off his style.

Graduation had some very strong singles that were great follow ups to Late Registration, but I don't think I was feeling the whole album.

My sister likes the new album and I like some tracks on it, but I can't really get into them like in the past

Graduation (unlike most) is probably my least favorite

although, for me, "Everything I Am", "I Wonder"

& "Flashing Lights" make it worth a listen cool

Graduation was probably the first Kanye album that I thought was the easiest to listen to. It did not have all the interludes and grand themes of the first two albums...which are great..however after hearing the album in full about 3 times it can be strangling.

Graduation was short, featured great tunes, "Flashing Lights" "I Wonder" "Big Brother" "The Glory" "Cant Tell Me Nothing" (which was also nicely remade by Francis & The Lights btw) "Homecoming" "Good Life" "Champion" "Stronger" "Everyting I Am" and even the itunes bonus "Bittersweet".

Late Registration and graduation are tied up for me really....Graduation is shorter and to the point in my opinion though.

Where's the love for 'Monster?'

I was listening to MBDTF last night and I have to say nearly the whole freakin' record impressed me, with the exception of "All of the Lights". "Monster" is too freakin' mindblowing. This and "So Appalled" are two examples of how his use of guest appearances actually work. I could tell he brings the best out of the most annoying rappers of today's music industry and it WORKED. I hate to admit, but Nicki killed her verses on "Monster" and I was surprised. Some of the songs on the album are funky as hell too, most notably "Hell of a Life," "Monster", "Dark Fantasy" and "Lost in the World".

I don't know why I grow out of the record, but it's strange that I fall out of love and back in love with it. It's a grower and it's claiming to be one of my top Kanye records (topping The College Dropout). I was humming the rhythms of "Lost in the World" and "Hell of a Life" this morning!
